Way Too Early Assessments
Despite his numbers down last season, Morris Rosa remains a beast. Rosa has come out the gates fiery hot scoring 38 and 47 points... both more than his highest output of the previous season. The former League MVP is also hitting 83% of his shots while the Impact aim for their 4th straight 20+ season.
The Slash offensive juggernaut rolls on. Despite the lineup changes, most notably Rawdon Connard , Khan Lefeaver and Gregorio Yule replacing Hiram Jurasz , Christopher Stovall and Randall Madera... the Slash look to be on course to lead the league for the 6th straight season in scoring. This also may be Connard's launch into superstardom.
Jamison Bomberger is still Jamison Bomberger. Back w/ the Ice Monkeys where he rose to superstardom, the 2-time League champion and reigning League MVP is keeps the Ice Monkeys as a threat despite losing Gregorio Yule to the Slash in a potential team rebuilding move.
The Eclipse won't miss Collin Trotter. While the team will not be as deep this season, the team can be nearly as potent with their Cobras deal sending Trotter away for the #1 pick Center Kazuo Bybee after Bomberger and Randal Lyne both departed for Free Agency.
Mohammed Lemaster will not save the Jacks. The team tried to get somewhat back to their roots by getting one of the teams original members who has since gone on to be a 1-time all-star and all-defensive player. He joins Defensive MVP Re Scalese to lead the team, but there are just still too many holes for the team not to have their 6th straight losing season.
Never discount the Meteors. The team never seems to rise to the level of top tier... but the trio of Jose Teske , Homer Gandy and Trevor Skabo will keep the team as a contender throughout the season.
The Wolves are scarier than last season. Not only does the team have a bucketload of potential all-stars on the court at all times and have the potential to put up even sillier offensive numbers than last season... they can also still play defense. After their franchise best 29-6 campaign last season where they led the league in point differential at +14.3ppg, it's possible the team stretches that to challenge the Slash's record +17.2 differential from two seasons ago.

Heyer-less Meteors get Confidence Back
The game started off with a bang, 34 - 22 1st quarter. Things settled down thereafter keeping around a 10 point lead throughout the game. Heyer was benched for the first time in at least 3 seasons and this must have got him because as soon as he stepped on the court he injured his shoulder. But, the Meteors found strength in Homer Gandy and Jose Teske to lift them over the feared Eclipse. Olp, Platter, and Whyman had great games keeping the game within a wink of being interesting, but the home team pulled off a statment win in Missouri.

Badgers will miss playoffs with loss to Meteors
Changes were slim that the Badgers would make the playoffs, but with thier 75-91 loss to the Meteors, they will now guarantee it, unable to follow up on their first appearance last season. With the win, the Meteors cap their worst season with 14 wins, marking the worst season for Coach Hasheem after a surprising championship last season. Homer Gandy finished out his season with 17 points and 18 boards in the win.

Meteoric Fall
One of the most intriguing story lines this season has been the reigning League II champion Meteors failing to launch. The team already has more losses than last season and is on pace for the worst record in franchise history. They have failed to win more than one game in a row and are battling with the Fire Ants to avoid being the league bottom-dwellers in the standings.
All this while every single starter was returned to the lineup. But maybe it's not so strange...
Perenial Team MVP Dean Botelho has been on a steady decline with his numbers, it will be interesting to see if the Meteors retain him after this season when his $17.8m contract is up.
Trevor Skabo came off a Playoff MVP season last season, to starting just 3 games this season.
Marshall Silvia, a lifelong solid role player for the team was put into the starting position for Skabo, but has struggled to fill his shoes.
Many thought center Homer Gandy would have a breakout season, but he has struggled to put up double digit points all season.
Point guad Elbert Hewgley has been all put invisible this season putting up low numbers across the board, and when he is not distributing the ball like he was expected to, the whole team struggles.
Shooting guard Sebastian Heyer continues to improve and is the only player that seems to be solid day in and day out, but he is not a player that the team can ride to victories.
Is Coach Hasheem's job in jeopardy after the disappointing season? So far it's likely that he will return, but things will have to be shaken up in Meteorville for him to keep the job beyond that.

Let the championship Begin!
For the first time in League II history, the #1 and #2 seeded teams will square off in the championship game for the Season 3 title. It proves to be a high scoring affair as both teams ranked 1st and 2nd respectively in scoring for the regular season, and 1st and 3rd during the postseason. Both teams rely heavily on an a inside game with bangers Tommie Drey for the Ice Monkeys and Homer Gandy for the Meteors at the forefront.
The Ice Monkeys will have home court advantage for 3 of the 5 games and will probably be more consistent, nevertheless as the Meteors have shown before, they can never be counted out with a ton of weapons to get the job done.
-
Do or Die... It's Game 5!
The Broncos came out and shocked the Meteors with an elimination stand in game 4 to stay alive for another chance to advance to the championship game with a 19 point win. They were at home, but did it without star Jake Lomeli. Of note, Homer Gandy of the Meteors was injured and is a blow to the team, but expect Patrick Shoemaker to solidly fill his shoes.
Game 5 will be at the Meteors stadium and it's doubtful that Dean Botelho and Trevor Skabo will have a repeat performance of scoring just 13 and 12 respectively. As long as one of those players can lead the team with at least 25 points for the game, expect the #2 Meteors to advance to the championship where the Ice Monkeys are waiting for the showdown.

Meteors Blast Off of the Ropes to force Game 5
The Meteors came into this game knowing it was do or die and they simply 'did'. Out of the gates it was an assault and the home team Badgers could not answer. Sebastian Heyer and Trevor Skabo led the way scoring 32 points a piece, but it was really an all around show of force and why this team came in T-#1 in the league.
Of note is the injury to Big man Homer Gandy, hopefully it will not be too serious as the Meteors rely on him for down low play.

Meteors rally late but lose opening game to Impact
Coach Hasheem:
We got out to a pretty slow start, couldn't find our groove. Sebastian Heyer and Homer Gandy really carried us during that time. But we began the 4th quarter on a 10-2 run and finally tied things up at 72-72. Our shooting problems crept back up though as we failed to take the lead and lost by 8. But hey, it was exciting.
