Way Too Early Assessments
Despite his numbers down last season, Morris Rosa remains a beast. Rosa has come out the gates fiery hot scoring 38 and 47 points... both more than his highest output of the previous season. The former League MVP is also hitting 83% of his shots while the Impact aim for their 4th straight 20+ season.
The Slash offensive juggernaut rolls on. Despite the lineup changes, most notably Rawdon Connard , Khan Lefeaver and Gregorio Yule replacing Hiram Jurasz , Christopher Stovall and Randall Madera... the Slash look to be on course to lead the league for the 6th straight season in scoring. This also may be Connard's launch into superstardom.
Jamison Bomberger is still Jamison Bomberger. Back w/ the Ice Monkeys where he rose to superstardom, the 2-time League champion and reigning League MVP is keeps the Ice Monkeys as a threat despite losing Gregorio Yule to the Slash in a potential team rebuilding move.
The Eclipse won't miss Collin Trotter. While the team will not be as deep this season, the team can be nearly as potent with their Cobras deal sending Trotter away for the #1 pick Center Kazuo Bybee after Bomberger and Randal Lyne both departed for Free Agency.
Mohammed Lemaster will not save the Jacks. The team tried to get somewhat back to their roots by getting one of the teams original members who has since gone on to be a 1-time all-star and all-defensive player. He joins Defensive MVP Re Scalese to lead the team, but there are just still too many holes for the team not to have their 6th straight losing season.
Never discount the Meteors. The team never seems to rise to the level of top tier... but the trio of Jose Teske , Homer Gandy and Trevor Skabo will keep the team as a contender throughout the season.
The Wolves are scarier than last season. Not only does the team have a bucketload of potential all-stars on the court at all times and have the potential to put up even sillier offensive numbers than last season... they can also still play defense. After their franchise best 29-6 campaign last season where they led the league in point differential at +14.3ppg, it's possible the team stretches that to challenge the Slash's record +17.2 differential from two seasons ago.

Cloud continue spectacular season turnaround beating Broncos 112-109
The Broncos and Cloud squared off in a battle of two teams deadset on playoff basketball with the Cloud coming in as one of the hottest teams around on a 4 game win streak, and the Broncos trying to keep afloat after going 1-4 the past 5 games.
The Broncos jumped out early at home going up by 18, but the Cloud battled back despite having Jared Isaacs foul out early after 17 points. Randall Madera took the reigns scoring 39 points on 17 of 26 shooting along with Randal Lyne scoring 22 getting the team back in striking distance and keeping them in the lead with 2 minutes left to win by 3 after Alden Swoffer missed a game tying 3 pointer. For the Broncos, Jake Lomeli scored 39 points with 9 boards.
Cobras pull out win over Cloud in exhilarating game
It came down to the last minutes in a game that went back and forth with 28 lead changes, but down the stretch, the Cobras got the best of the Cloud 106-102 at home as they attempt to climb to .500 on the season. Carson Augustine led the way with 30 points and 5 of 7 from downtown. Evan Wile put in 19 with 10 assists while Jae Larry scored 16 with 11 boards. For the Cloud, Randal Lyne scored 24 with 11 boards and a very bright note from the teams rookie, 9th pick Beaufort Stief scoring a career high 21 with a career high 9 assists in the loss.
Cloud turning things around with another win over Wasps
After a 0-5 start, the Cloud have finally found a rythm, going 5-1 over the past 6 games after a 121-95 rout of the 7-3 Wasps. Jared Isaacs led the way with 30 points while Randal Lyne scored 26 with 9 rebounds.
Cloud break losing streak with win vs Impact
It was by far the most put together game the Cloud played all season, even if it was only the struggling Impact that they beat and still failed to score more than 100 points. Both Randal Lyne and Cecil Frueh scored 27 to lead the charge with Caleb Weatherspoon dishing 11 assists. Both teams now stand at the bottom of the pack with a 1-5 record.
Cloud head to 0-4 with loss to Jacks
With a 87-110 loss to the Jacks, the Cloud have officially took themselves out of the running to be considered an elite team. The Jacks had their way with high main Terrence Mcniff leading the way scoring 22 points and 8 assists in the 3rd season player's break out season.
Bothe Jared Isaacs and Randal Lyne fouled out for the Cloud who have struggled game in and game out this season.
Randal Lyne re-signs with Cloud
Randal Lyne has signed on to play for another 2 seasons with the Cloud for a contract worth $9,670,000 per season.
Randal Lyne finishes 1st in the league in field goal percentage
Randal Lyne averaged .585 field goal percentage per game this season finishing in 1st place leaguewide. The Cloud congratulate him on this accomplishment.KO'd.. Broncos all but knock Cloud out of playoff contention
The Cloud led by as much as 18 points, but the lead dwindled in the fourth ending when Jake Lomeli hit a huge three pointer from the top of the key to put the Broncos up 100-99 with 19 seconds left. Off of the Cloud timeout, Randal Lyne attempted the game winner with time running out but had the ball tipped by Denis Rosa to seal the win for the Broncos and get them that much closer back to another playoffs. The team finishes up their final games against the Wasps and Diamonds. Lomeli led the team with 23 points and 14 boards.
Lyne injured, will miss at least 9 games.
Randal Lyne injured his leg in the Cloud game against the Meteors. He is expected to miss 9-10 games.
So far the Cloud seem to have made the right moves during the offseason to give themselves a good shot at a repeat title. They traded away reliable 6th man Jackie Porcaro who is now leading the Wolves, but they added The X-Factor Tommie Drey who was underutilized by the Wolves last season as well as role player Brandon Siva to go along with their championship front of Randall Madera, Jared Isaacs, Randal Lyne, Caleb Weatherspoon and Cecil Frueh.
Tommie Drey adds an element of surprise to every game and has shown that he can be whatever you need him to be, wether it's dropping 30 in a game, pulling down 15 boards or dishing dimes, he built for the job. Once the season comes down to crunchtime, many think The X-Factor Tommie Drey will be the player that makes for breaks the run for two titles.
Cloud hand Jacks a dose of reality
The reigning champion Cloud topped the last undefeated team in the league crushing the Jacks by 30, 119-89 in what many think could be a championship game preview. The point total allowed by the Jacks was the second most ever allowed in team history. While the Cloud hit 58% from downtown while the Jacks were a dreadful 2 of 22. Kent Noll could muster just 1 for 8 himself, however did still manage 24 points and 6 assists.
The Jacks tinkered with their lineup, giving Rosendo Reiss and Chang Erwin another start, over the usual Edward Thrash and Judson Ibarra... not a good idea as both Reiss and Erwin struggled.
For the Cloud, things were just clicking again... scoring 112+ for the 4th time in their first 5 games. Jared Isaacs hit 4 of 5 from downtown to add to his 28 points. Caleb Weatherspoon scored 23 with 9 assists and 7 boards while Randal Lyne pulled in 11 boards with 23 points.
Season Opener Starts Out Competitive but Gets Out of Hand for Wasps
The Cloud open Season 2 with a comfortable home win against the Wasps by doing what they do best--scoring. Season 1's best shooting team (1st in the league with .500 FG% and .390 3P%, and 2nd at 103.1 PPG) shot 52% from the field today, with C Randal Lyne leading all scorers with 33. The Wasps held it close into the 2nd quarter but could never close the gap, and things slowly got out of reach and never returned.
Wasps Coach Ill Jackson: "I know we can be competitive, we've been competitive in the preseason and here today. But you don't step on the court to just be competitive. You come out here to win, to execute and turn all your hard work into results. We need to do a better job of that, starting with me. Give the Cloud credit, though. They can light it up."
The Wasps shot just 38% overall, including 17 of 47 from beyond the arc. Rookie G Dudley Cronin put up 22/11/6, but contributed to 8 of the team's 20 turnovers.
Lyne receives ring
Randal Lyne has received his championship ring for being part of the League II, Season 1 champion Cloud team. Congratulations!
Cloud dominate in OT to go up 2-0
42 points from Kent Noll wasn't enough to get the Cheery O's over the hump in OT. The team took their largest lead of the game with minutes to go and up by 6. That wasn't enough as the Cloud pounded inside to Randal Lyne who tied the game up to send it to OT. In Overtime the Cloud wasted little time outscoring the Cheery O's 17-8 to take the game by 9 points. Lyne ended with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Jared Isaacs scored 36 and Cecil Frueh scored 22 off the bench.
The Cloud can close out the series and take the League II championship next game at home.
Cloud step up in dominant performance to move to 2nd round
The Cloud proved to be up to the challenge and then some crushing the Fire Ants by 42 in their most dominant performance of the season. Randall Madera led the team with 38 points including 6 of 7 from downtown while Jared Isaacs scored 30 with 7 boards. Caleb Weatherspoon scored 22 with 13 assists while Randal Lyne scored 18 with 8 rebounds.
For the Fire Ants, nothing worked as they trailed by as much as 46 points in their loss which knocks them out of the playoffs. Evan Wile led the team with 22 points and 6 assists, but was a lone bright spot on the team that saw Israel Jacoby score just 15 with 4 boards.
The Cloud move on to face the Moles in the semi-finals.
Do or Die Game 5 for Fire Ants/Cloud
The Fire Ants won the first, the Cloud won the next two, then the Fire Ants rounded it out with a game 4 win at home even the series up 2-2. The #3 seeded Cloud were the favorite to take it all, and may still be going back home for the final game, but they are missing a crucial player in Cecil Frueh who dropped 46 points earlier in the series. They are however probably the deepest team in the league including all-star and points leader Jared Isaacs, three point threat Randall Madera, solid center Randal Lyne, Caleb Weatherspoon, assist master at the point and role player Jackie Porcaro who steps in for Frueh at the other forward spot.
The Fire Ants sport a deep bench as well but heavily rely on all-star center Israel Jacoby to set the tone of the game. A win will come down to wether Evan Wile and Gregory Cushing are able to step up with big games to give the team the boost they will need on the road.
Randal Lyne finishes 3rd in the league in field goal percentage
Randal Lyne averaged .603 field goal percentage per game this season finishing in 3rd place leaguewide. The Cloud congratulate him on this accomplishment.Cloud make statement win over Fire Ants
The Cloud jumped all over the Fire Ants never trailing in their 126-111 win to improve to 17-8. They shot 60% from the field and connected on 30 of 36 free throws. The big 3, Jared Isaacs, Randall Madera and Randal Lyne all scored 28 points to lead the team. Caleb Weatherspoon had 13 with 14 assists. This is the teams 4th win in a row.
Cloud beat Impact for 2-0 head-to-head win behind Isaacs record 48
The Cloud took control of the game versus the Impact in the second half building a 17 point lead behind Jared Isaacs league record 48 points on 19 for 23 shooting. He remains the leagues leading scorer.
This gives the Cloud the tie-breaker advantage over the Impact. Unfortunately injuries have plagued the Cloud, first Randall Madera, then Randal Lyne, now Cecil Frueh who had been playing extremley well. He will miss at least 6 games for the team.
Lyne is huge in return, Cloud crush Diamonds
The Cloud are finally whole again after center Randal Lyne returned from injury, and he didn't disappoint. The Cloud never trailed in their 118-81 win over the Diamonds to improve to 15-8. Lyne led all scorers with 28 points with 8 blocks. Caleb Weatherspoon also had a tremendous game scoring 19 points, 16 assists and 8 rebounds.
Destined to win?
The Cloud have been one of the more curiousity provoking teams in the league, ranked 9th in the preseason polls, they have climbed their way up to the top power ranking spot with good reason.
Jared Isaacs and Randall Madera are both scoring nearly 30 points per game, which is unheard of for being on the same team, while the pick up of Cecil Frueh has proven to be one of the best trades so far this season. He has worked his way into a starting role has put up huge scoring numbers.
The team was without Madera for 8 games, now they are missing starting center Randal Lyne, who should return shortly. Once the team is solid and getting contributions from all key players, the team will be the most formidable opponent and very much the favorite to grab the #1 playoff position.
Madera's return is huge as Cloud take control in 4th to beat Eclipse
Randall Madera wasted no time at all erasing any questions his absence might have presented scoring 38 points and tying a league best 9 three pointers going 9 for 9 from the perimeter with 7 assists as the Cloud took control in the 4th quarter to beat the Eclipse 127-99 and stay up in the league standings with a best 11-2 record.
Jared Isaacs sputtered out the gate going just 4 for 20 before getting hot to finish with 20 points. The surprise of day was Cecil Frueh, playing just his 4th game after being traded from the Badgers coming off the bench to score a career best 32 points with 6 boards in just 26 minutes.
The downside of the day was Randal Lyne leaving the game with an agravated calf pull. He is expected to miss at least 9 games.
