  • Bomb Dropped

Considered one of the best centers in the league, Jamison Bomberger has exploded this season guiding the Ice Monkeys to what should be the teams 4th playoffs in 5 seasons, and 3rd in a row.

3-time all-star and former Team Tournament MVP, Bomberger has put up sensational numbers all season including over 20ppg, nearly 8rpg and hits over 92% from the stripe. He could also be on his way to a League MVP nod and would be the first center to do so in League II history.

The team, led by coach Desiverd added Jamal Reese to the mix, complementing a revitalized Tommie Drey. Wilfred Shobe and Cuniberto Sirett have also been solid at guard as the team has been on a tear lately as they climb the standings in terror-like fashion.

For the Wolves, Jose Teske nearly put up another straight triple-double, scoring 28 with 8 boards and 9 assists. They will head back to Lizards home court to play a critical game 3.

  • Jamal Reese named Team MVP

Congratulations to Jamal Reese on winning the Lizards Team MVP award for Season 4.

  • Lizards make quick work of the Ice Monkeys

The Lizards, the #1 seed are back in the 2nd round of the playoffs for the 4th straight season with a 118-90 rout of the the Ice Monkeys. They win the series 3-0 with Emery Breeden scoring 28 and 7 boards and Jamal Reese scoring 21 with 16 boards. Genaro Deavers scored 28 with 8 boards in the win.

The Ice Monkeys will go home bounced from the playoffs again after having a championship runner-up exit a season ago.

The Lizards will face the Wolves/Cheery O's winner as they attempt to get out of the 2nd round and compete for the championship for the first time in team history.

  • Smooth Sailin'

Once again the Lizards have emerged as one of the top teams in the league becoming the first to win 20+ contests and first to clinch a playoff berth. No surprise though, as they have been the most consistent franchise in the league's first 4 seasons, reaching not only the playoffs with 21+ wins every season, but the 2nd round every single season as well which is the hump they will attempt to surpass this season.

The bring perhaps their toughest team with their usual deep bench in this season under coach Makaveli with familiar players who've been on the roster since season 1... Drew Hanes, Jamal Reese, Broderick Kay, Genaro Deavers, Bart Kelleher, Elbert Saucier, Israel Deaton among others.

On any given game, either one of those players might carry the team as they play season-in/season-out as probably the most unselfish group of players anywhere. With a few games left, they should easily wrap up the #1 seed for home court advantage, and may just take a crack at the Impact record of 26 wins in a season.

  • Lizards steamroll Ice in first ever interleague match

It was expected to be a test of league dominance by League I over League II.... instead it was just a test of dominance of the League I champion Lizards over the fledgling League II Ice. Leading by as much as 36 points and dominating for 3 1/2 periods, the Lizards never let up winning 103-70 to move on to round 2 in the team tournament championships. Genaro Deavers scored 22 with 8 boards while Jamal Reese scored 24 with 7 boards.

Jean Bickford was one of only two Ice players to score above 10. He had 20 points with 8 rebounds, while Derrick Fons scored 12 in the teams miserable 70 point outting.

  • Deavers has the Lizards poised for the #1 spot

The Lizards have broken away from the pack of leaders and stand alone at the top, outscoring teams by a league leading 10 points. Genaro Deavers is the teams go to guard for the team that has a well rounded crop of players including their leading scorer Drew Hanes who is scoring just about 22ppg and Jamal Reese who is grabbing 9rpg.

Deavers is scoring 21 ppg, 4 apg and 6 rpg and only seems to be improving as the Lizards eye the #1 spot going into the final stretch of the season.
