  • Eclipse venture into Moles Stadium for championship rematch

Last season it was quite a different story as both teams were well above .500 at the halfway point in the season. Currently both teams are still struggling to find their stride with the Moles at 9-8 and the Eclipse sitting at 7-11.

Kent Noll has hit a mid-season slump after a very fast start, so the Moles will be relying more on Hiram Atkins to take the load, while they have also been tinkering with the center position, as Virgil Fowle has been more consistent than his counterpart Edward Furbee.

For the Eclipse, Judson Ibarra has been struggling all season and found his way to the bench last game in favor of Carlton Poling who is having a solid season. Miquel Windish finally made his starting debut putting up a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards. Stan Villano backed him up after a string of bad performances.

If the Moles are able to pull this one out, it will be because of the perimeter game. If the Eclipse take it, it will be because they kept their turnovers low.

  • Wolves hold off Eclipse despite late run

The Eclipse played a strong first half and 4th quarter, but the 3rd quarter disaster did them in being outscored 26-16 to fall behind and lose to the Wolves 98-104 despite their late 16-4 point run at the end of the game. The Wolves grab their first win on the season, while the reigning champs fall to 0-2.

Judson Ibarra led all scores with 29 points while Freeman Link dished a career high 13 assists, getting the start for the injured Andy Fredricks.

  • Ibarra receives ring

Judson Ibarra has received his championship ring for being part of the League II, Season 2 champion Cloud team. Congratulations!

  • For Championship pride

It all comes down to this game for the Eclipse and Broncos. Both teams have shocked the league by making it this far with the #8 seeded Broncos becoming the lowest seed to win a first round series, and trying to further that by moving into the championship game. The Eclipse, considered a very long shot to even contend in the playoffs, making their first appearance and overcoming all obstacles so far with a 5-2 playoff record.

So far in the series, the home team has won each game which bodes well for the Eclipse who are actually undefeated at home this postseason. The Eclipse are led by Eli Jaycox, Cody Linville, Judson Ibarra and rookie Garret Blosser who can all get hot at any time for the highest scoring team in the league, while the Broncos have solid depth as well led by Jake Lomeli and Bradly Suniga who have both been phenomenal this postseason.

Winner takes all! Who will meet the Moles in the 2nd League II championship?!

  • Ibarra injured, will miss at least 1 game.

  • Party Crashers

The Eclipse have shocked everyone this season compiling a 3rd place 17-11 record under new head coach Tikmann. This is so far 3 more wins than last season still with 7 games to play. If the team makes the playoffs, they will become the lowest ranked team coming into the season to make the playoffs jumping from a rank of 17 to as high as #2 in the power rankings.

The team is led by the sharpest perimeter shooter in the league, Eli Jaycox who leads shooting 49%. At shooting forward is Cody Linville who is scoring 20ppg, rookie Garret Blosser who is always solid averaging 14ppg, 5.6apg and 6.1rpg. Miquel Windish is a rock as well and perhaps the secret sauce, 6th man Judson Ibarra who has been huge for the team after coming over from the Jacks earlier in the season.

The league is waiting to see just how for real the Eclipse are after they started the season out shakey, went on a 10-1 run mid-season, and now seem to be scraping by heading down the stretch. If the team can finish the season with at least 21 wins, they should be taken seriously heading into the playoffs.

  • Eclipse remain perfect at home

With their 9th straight home win, the Eclipse have improved to a league best 9-0 at home and 13-5 overall. The team has been one of the surprises this season, winning just 14 games a season ago, they have now rolled wins in 10 of their last 11 games thanks in large part to rookie Garret Blosser who has been terrific day in and day out at the point. The #2 pick led the game with 31 points, 7 boards and 5 assists. Also playing his best game as a member of the team, Judson Ibarra scored 20 points with 21 boards and 5 assists coming off the bench for Cody Linville who played just 8 minutes scoring 2 points.

  • Mcniff traded to Jacks from Eclipse for Ibarra

The Eclipse have reached a deal with the Jacks that will send Terrence Mcniff, and a season 3, 2nd round draft pick to the Jacks in exchange for Judson Ibarra.

Mcniff averaged 4.0 PPG, 0.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 13.6 minutes per game. Ibarra averaged 12.5 PPG, 7.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 27.4 minutes per game.

  • Cloud hand Jacks a dose of reality

The reigning champion Cloud topped the last undefeated team in the league crushing the Jacks by 30, 119-89 in what many think could be a championship game preview. The point total allowed by the Jacks was the second most ever allowed in team history. While the Cloud hit 58% from downtown while the Jacks were a dreadful 2 of 22. Kent Noll could muster just 1 for 8 himself, however did still manage 24 points and 6 assists.

The Jacks tinkered with their lineup, giving Rosendo Reiss and Chang Erwin another start, over the usual Edward Thrash and Judson Ibarra... not a good idea as both Reiss and Erwin struggled.

For the Cloud, things were just clicking again... scoring 112+ for the 4th time in their first 5 games. Jared Isaacs hit 4 of 5 from downtown to add to his 28 points. Caleb Weatherspoon scored 23 with 9 assists and 7 boards while Randal Lyne pulled in 11 boards with 23 points.

  • Under head coach John K, the Jacks last season went all out trading away their next two 1st round draft picks to get the Ice Monkeys Judson Ibarra and Adolfo Hebert betting on a playoff berth and a run at a championship. It didn't pan out so well, as despite the team finishing somewhat strong down the stretch, they could only muscle a 15-20 record, missing the playoffs and firing John K.

This season seems to be no different. They lucked out with the top pick in the draft, Gary Ladd who is a solid shooter, terrific rebounder and all around great player, they traded for the Impact's Christopher Stovall who should compliment him very well with his rebounding and scoring abillities. It will be no surprise if the team leads the league in rebounds. Add in the depth at center between Hebert and Dirk Roberson, you have an A+ defense.

Then for the crème de la crème. They kept solid point guard Edward Thrash, and brought in pure scorer, #1 pick in the season 1 draft, and playoff MVP Kent Noll. Don't be surprised if he lights up the league with 30+ points a game!

The Jacks are now ranked #1 in the preseason rankings to win it all. With the solid core of starters, and an equaly solid bench, if this team doesn't contend for a championship this season... the team might as well just give it up.

  • Ice Monkeys: Don't Sleep On 'Em

Nobody. Absolutely nobody gave the Ice Monkeys a chance at even making the playoffs once they traded away Adolfo Hebert and Judson Ibarra to the Jacks, and then Hugh Looney and Guillermo Fishburn to the Slash... for draft picks.

In steps Virgil Fowle, the 206th pick in the initial draft of League I. He played 29 games for the team leading them on a 7-3 run to close the season and head into the playoffs at 19-15. Fowle led all centers with 23.4ppg while grabbing 7.3 boards on his way to a Team MVP award, All-Star selection and All-League selection.

He was rewarded with a $5,526,500 contract for this season... up from $567,000 his rookie season to become the highest paid player in the league.

This season, he looks to lead the team back to the playoffs and perhaps even contend for a championship as they have two first round draft picks this season and two next season, putting them in a pretty good situation to be contenders for the forseeable future.

  • Ibarra injured, will miss at least 8 games.

Judson Ibarra injured his elbow in the Jacks game against the Terriers. He is expected to miss 8-9 games.

  • Jacks score huge win over Wranglers 91-77

The Jacks finally look to be reaping the rewards of bringing Adolfo Hebert and Judson Ibarra over from the Ice Monkeys winning a franchise tying best 3 games in a row. In all the games the team has notched over 50 rebounds, this time pulling in franchise best 56 boards to 26 for the Wranglers. Mohammed Lemaster led the team with 17 rebounds and 14 points. Joshua Dave scored 25 points while dishing 11 assists.

  • Jacks end 7 game losing streak to beating Ice Monkeys 86-73

  • Jacks streak of losses mounts to 7

The season continues to baffle the Jacks losing their 7th straight game with their second lowest output of the season with 70 points. The trade bringing Judson Ibarra and Adolfo Hebert over from the Ice Monkeys was thought to be the move that would cement the team as playoff contenders, but it's done quite the opposite plumetting them to the bottom of the standings. Joshua Dave could only muster 14 points as his foul trouble limited his minutes to 32.
