  • Smooth Sailin'

Once again the Lizards have emerged as one of the top teams in the league becoming the first to win 20+ contests and first to clinch a playoff berth. No surprise though, as they have been the most consistent franchise in the league's first 4 seasons, reaching not only the playoffs with 21+ wins every season, but the 2nd round every single season as well which is the hump they will attempt to surpass this season.

The bring perhaps their toughest team with their usual deep bench in this season under coach Makaveli with familiar players who've been on the roster since season 1... Drew Hanes, Jamal Reese, Broderick Kay, Genaro Deavers, Bart Kelleher, Elbert Saucier, Israel Deaton among others.

On any given game, either one of those players might carry the team as they play season-in/season-out as probably the most unselfish group of players anywhere. With a few games left, they should easily wrap up the #1 seed for home court advantage, and may just take a crack at the Impact record of 26 wins in a season.

  • Lizards begin season in usual winning fashion

One of the most consistent teams in the league, the Lizards begin this season 2-0 as they have done 3 of the past 4 seasons. They also may be the only team never to have a losing record at any point during their franchise history. They beat the Wasps by 13 in the normal method of sharing the load, this time Drew Hanes off the bench scored 22 while Bart Kelleher put up a double-double with 14 and 11 boards.

Unfortunately for the Wasps, rookie Skipper Muzio went down to injury early, but Rey Crankshaw stepped in to pull the load in the effort with 21 points and 12 boards. Muzio is expected to miss 6-9 games.

Drew Hanes led the Lizards with a game high 29 points on 11-20 shooting, including 4-9 from downtown, to beat the Ice Monkeys 100-98 on the road. The Ice Monkeys built an early 10 point lead in the first quarter, but the Lizards came on strong in the second and led the rest of the game. A late comeback effort by the Ice Monkeys made the game interesting, but it was too late. Wilfred Shobe hit a shot with 0:05 on the clock to cut it to 1 before Roland Sibert hit 1 of 2 free throws to close out the game, leaving no time for a potential game-tying shot. A first quarter injury to Jamison Bomberger, a key contributor for the Ice Monkeys, already missing F Brodrick Lamyman with a hip injury, appeared to play a factor in the game. Shobe led the Ice Monkeys with 24 points and 10 rebounds, but struggled at the perimeter going 1-12. The Lizards dominated the turnover battle 13 to 6, including 4 steals from Israel Deaton, which seemed to make the difference in this game. The Lizards are now 5-0 all time versus the Ice Monkeys.

Drew Hanes led the way with 32 points and 8 boards while the team held Tyrone Hamel to 21 points and 13 boards and 0-8 from the perimeter. Overall the Wrangers were a horrid 3 of 19 from beyond the arc.

  • Lizards come on late to stay unbeaten

The Lizards are quietly 3-0 after a 102-89 win over the Badgers. The team remains one of the most balanced teams with Drew Hanes taking the role as scorer this game with 29 and 7 boards. Genaro Deavers struggled to 13 points on an off night hitting just 4 of 19 shots.

Hamel came over from the Badgers after an all-star and team-mvp season scoring 19.8ppg and 7.5rpg. He came out hot leading the Lizards to a 126-95 win over the Cobras scoring 32 points on 12 of 13 points. He joins Genaro Deavers and Drew Hanes as a 3rd scoring threat for the Lizards who should have no problem making another championship push this season.

  • Cheery O's hold on to stun Lizards after 2OT in game 1

Fourteen lead changes and 16 ties in the the double overtime span left the Cheery O's with an early series lead in the left bracket semi-finals. Kent Noll started off extremely slow scoring just 4 points in the first half. He finished strong however ending up with 26. Rogelio Pacheco was the teams leader scoring 34 with 13 assists while Frances Daley scored 26 with 9 boards.

The Lizards had solid games from Genaro Deavers scoring 24 with 7 rebounds and 8 assists while Drew Hanes scored 24 off the bench.

  • Cheery O's poised to deliver knock blow to Lizards

Who could have ever seen this?? The Cheery O's  are up on the Lizards 2-0 in the semi's and just 1 game away from reaching the leagues first championship game against either the Moles or Cloud.

It seems Kent Noll has finally found the shooting touch this playoffs scoring 37 the last game. Rogelio Pacheco has also been heating up the court upping his assists average from 7.4 to 10.8 apg. The Lizards look to be out of answers. They will start Drew Hanes again as they did all regular season hoping that will spark the teams offense.

  • Lizards battle back

For the Cheery O's, Kent Noll once again lit up the scoreboard with 38 while Rogelio Pacheco scored 19 with 6 assists.

The series moves back to the Cheery O's home where the team will try to close it on out and move onto the championship series.

  • Deavers has the Lizards poised for the #1 spot

The Lizards have broken away from the pack of leaders and stand alone at the top, outscoring teams by a league leading 10 points. Genaro Deavers is the teams go to guard for the team that has a well rounded crop of players including their leading scorer Drew Hanes who is scoring just about 22ppg and Jamal Reese who is grabbing 9rpg.

Deavers is scoring 21 ppg, 4 apg and 6 rpg and only seems to be improving as the Lizards eye the #1 spot going into the final stretch of the season.

  • Hanes and Deavers light up the Meteors
