  • Slash Retooling

It's been quite a merry-go-round for the Slash this season under GM lasstr8. As the team sits trying desperately to surpass the franchises most wins of 15 in the 1st season, they have built a team around prize catch Christopher Stovall. However, the team has changed drastically from the team he was surrounded by last season, and continues to change with the most recent addition of Gary Ladd.

Ladd, a former #1 pick and rookie of the season, 2-time all-star and 2-time All-League selection, has been a hold out for the better part of the season, finally persuaded to join the Slash for a long term contract as they will now have a decent shot to make the playoffs for the first time in team history.

Other notable changes include Caleb Weatherspoon in and out from the Cloud, Denis Rosa and Stan Villano to the Cloud, Michael Mattox and Cole Lemus in from the Wasps, Nathaniel Kahle and Gonzalo Calpin gone, Brandon Siva gone, Boone Rehrer and Blaine Hannon in from the Wranglers, Hannon then back out. Chester Keene, Jeffry Brewington and future 1st round picks to bring crowd favorite Truman Scanlon back from the Cheery O's... among others.

Add to this the multitude of free agent pickups along with top 10 draft pick guards Isar Tellefsen and Isod Safron. Quite a different team from just a season ago, with several different lineups... the only constant being Stovall. It remains to be seen if GM lasstr8 settles on this roster, and if in fact he can even hold onto the job next season... how the season plays out should decide.

  • Ice Monkeys off to Best Start

The Ice Monkeys have started Season 3 8-5 and off to their best start. Coach mmah83 has made some key moves to make this team competitive and a team to be feared since taking over last season. A major trade brought Tommie Drey  and Brandon Siva to the team in Season 2 and they are both playing well as starters. This off-season the Ice Monkeys signed Jamison Bomberger  and he is currently atop the all-star votes for center. Veteran Ice Monkeys All-Star guards Wilfred Shobe and Earl Wilt continue to play well and round out a solid starting lineup. They are coming off 3 30+ point wins in their last 4 games and are one of the hottest teams in the league right now.

  • David,Goldson,1st round draft pick traded to Cloud from Ice Monkeys for Drey,Siva,Story

The Ice Monkeys have reached a deal with the Cloud that will send Fermin David, Carson Goldson, and a season 3, 1st round draft pick to the Cloud in exchange for Tommie Drey, Brandon Siva, and Floyd Story.

David averaged 1.9 PPG, 2.4 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 9.7 minutes per game. Goldson averaged 8.0 PPG, 7.3 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 32.8 minutes per game. Drey averaged 12.6 PPG, 9.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 31.4 minutes per game. Siva averaged 0.3 PPG, 0.2 rebounds and 0.4 assists in 5.2 minutes per game. Story averaged 6.4 PPG, 3.7 rebounds and 0.2 assists in 19.7 minutes per game.

  • So far the Cloud seem to have made the right moves during the offseason to give themselves a good shot at a repeat title. They traded away reliable 6th man Jackie Porcaro who is now leading the Wolves, but they added The X-Factor Tommie Drey who was underutilized by the Wolves last season as well as role player Brandon Siva to go along with their championship front of Randall Madera, Jared Isaacs, Randal Lyne, Caleb Weatherspoon and Cecil Frueh.

Tommie Drey adds an element of surprise to every game and has shown that he can be whatever you need him to be, wether it's dropping 30 in a game, pulling down 15 boards or dishing dimes, he built for the job. Once the season comes down to crunchtime, many think The X-Factor Tommie Drey will be the player that makes for breaks the run for two titles.
