    They face the always-tough Cobras next up, one of the two teams to defeat them this season.

  • Slash v Eclipse: Season Episode 1

    This seasons Slash v Eclipse rivalry has the teams in usual fashion squaring off at the top of the standings. Including this game and the past 3 regular season matchups have the teams coming in at a combined 116-24 (81%) record with the winning the last regular season meeting by 6 and the Eclipse winning the prior 2.

    The Slash have won the last 3 matchups including playoffs however where the teams met in the championship game. The Eclipse of course are the reigning champs going on to win last season become the first time to take multiple championships in League II while breaking the record for regular season wins with 32.

    The Slash are led by All-Stars Evan Wile and Cliff Labbe, Rawdon Connard and Gregorio Yule with once again perhaps the deepest bench in the league, while the Eclipse come in with All-Stars Jake Lomeli and Caleb Shedd and former All-Star Armand Whyman with the defensive terrors All-Defender Andy Fredricks and Michael Mattox.

    Both teams feature high-flying offensives with the Eclipse having a better outside game. Both teams are turning the ball over just 12 times a game, however the Eclipse come in with one of the best defenses in the league.

    The Eclipse have been terrorizing the league despite losing League MVP Jamison Bomberger while the Slash have remained quite the force as usual despite reworking the team coming into the season and even during it.

They trounced the Lizards by 47 while putting up a new record 157 points, breaking their old record set just a couple of games ago when they scored 152. Evan Wile led the offensive juggernauts with 36 points and 19 assists during the win which also included a record 42 assists.

  • Eclipse squeeze past Slash in OT thriller

    The Eclipse came out strong mounting an 18 point lead early in the 3rd and tied series game against the Slash. However by the time the half closed, the 70% plus shooting by the Eclipse dwindled and the game was virtually tied.

    As time dwindled in the 4th, Omar Platter hit the game tying shot to send things into OT at 122-122. In OT the Eclipse were able to hold the slight edge throughout winning by 4 and taking a 2-1 lead in the best of 5 series.

    Michael Mattox led the team with 34 points, Malik Dullen scored 25 with 13 boards and Collin Trotter dished 15 assists with 22 points. Evan Wile scored 22 with 15 assists while Christopher Stovall scored 29 and 10. Cliff Labbe scored 16 with 11 boards off the bench in the losing cause.

    The Eclipse attempt to close out the series at home in what should be another thriller.

  • Slash: Full Speed Ahead

    The Slash haven't lost a step from last season when they led the league with an unmatched offensive juggernaut. They led the league in scoring, points, field goal percentage, three pointer percentage and assists on their way to a #1 seed in the playoffs, falling short in a 2-3 series loss to the eventual champion Ice Monkeys.

    This season they have been slashing through opponents with a vengence, scoring an unheard of 124 points per game as the team is hitting nearly 54% from the field. All 5 starters have been playing at all-star levels, led by 4-time all-star Christopher Stovall who has been unstoppable with over 25 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and hitting over 63% from the field. He is the early favorite for League MVP.

    Not to be outdone, long-time Diamond Cliff Labbe joins Stovall at the other forward spot averaging over 24ppg in what is shaping up to be a career season. Evan Wile and Randall Madera are right in step, both with over 9 assists per game while still both having double-digit point outtings every game. Hiram Jurasz in just his second season, and first season starting is hitting 65% from the field with nearly 15ppg and over 8rpg.

    At this rate, the Slash look unstoppable. Their only loss came while scoring 143 in OT to a Terriers team who had to break the league record with 147 points to win.

    Tyrone Hamel averaged 34 ppg in the Wranglers series against the Slash, but it wasn't enough to will his team to a series win as the injury plagued Slash overcame a 17 point deficit to win by a point and take the series 3-1 on the road. Evan Wile scored 17 with 9 assists and 7 boards while Collin Trotter scored 21 with 6 assists.

    The Slash not only won their 1st every playoff game this postseason, they will move on to the 2nd round for the first time and face a formidable Ice Monkeys team in the semi-finals.

  • Slash wrap up playoff home field advantage with win over Broncos

    The Broncos, in need of a win to keep their playoff chances from becoming razor thin, kept things interesting against the high-powered Slash going up by 14 in the first half and then staying close till the final minutes. However the Slash, who have dominated this season with their record-breaking offense overpowered winning 114-104 and shoring up the #1 spot in the playoffs.

    Christopher Stovall had a big day, tying his season high of 31 points while hitting 6 triples and pulling in 9 boards. Evan Wile dished 15 assists while scoring 16 in the win. The Slash have a chance to tie the League II record of 26 wins when they square off against the Meteors, who still have a playoff chance and the game could possibly be a preview of the playoffs 1st round action.

  • Slash wrap up playoff berth with win over Cobras

    The Slash became the first team guaranteed a playoff spot after a 127-99 rout of the Cobras. Evan Wile dished a personal best 17 assists while scoring 21. Christopher Stovall scored 27 with 8 boards in the win. The team now faces the challenge of trying to shore up home advantage through the playoffs.

  • Rehrer traded to Cobras from Slash for Wile

    The Slash have reached a deal with the Cobras that will send Cam Richardson, and Boone Rehrer to the Cobras in exchange for Evan Wile.

    Rehrer averaged 9.8 PPG, 1.6 rebounds and 0.3 assists in 16.1 minutes per game. Wile averaged 18.5 PPG, 3.6 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 35.8 minutes per game.

  • Cobras Surge to Series Lead

    Led by Carson Augustine once again, the Cobras defeat the Wolves to go up 2-0 in the championship series. The team led by as much as 21 before the Wolves closed the gap to 10 and game end. Augustine led the game with 30 points, just above his postseason average along with 7 rebounds. Evan Wile dished 13 assists to go along with his 23 points.

    Dudley Cronin had a terrific game for the Wolves in the losing cause with 24 points and 10 assists.

  • Cobras rally in 4th to take game 2

    The Cobras battled back at home against the Wranglers to even things up in the semi-final series. Mohammed Lemaster led the way with 29 points with 11 boards while Carson Augustine scored  28 with 9 dishes. Evan Wile scored 21 with 8 assists. The series goes back to Wranglers home court for game 3.

  • Evan Wile finishes 2nd in the league in three point percentage

    Evan Wile averaged .462 three point percentage per game this season finishing in 2nd place leaguewide. The Cobras congratulate him on this accomplishment.
  • Cobras still in mix with win over Battle

    Evan Wile came through big for the Cobras, scoring 35 points, 9 assists and 7 boards as the team cruised by the Battle 112-94 to remain in the playoff mix. The team is trying to make the postseason for the first time in franchise history. Coach Nanoscorp is the teams 4th coach in as many seasons. Meanwhile the Battle are officially out again as in all thier previoius seasons, stuck on 15 wins, the same number as they managed the last 2 seasons. The Cobras face the Broncos who will attempt to play spoiler next game.

    The Cobras have been red hot this season, led by Carson Augustine who lit up the Ice Monkeys for this seasons record 44 points in a 132-108 win. Evan Wile scored 21 with 8 boards and 8 assists as the Cobras improved to 5-2. The 132 points marks a franchise record for the Cobras.

  • Cobras pull out win over Cloud in exhilarating game

    It came down to the last minutes in a game that went back and forth with 28 lead changes, but down the stretch, the Cobras got the best of the Cloud 106-102 at home as they attempt to climb to .500 on the season. Carson Augustine led the way with 30 points and 5 of 7 from downtown. Evan Wile put in 19 with 10 assists while Jae Larry scored 16 with 11 boards. For the Cloud, Randal Lyne scored 24 with 11 boards and a very bright note from the teams rookie, 9th pick Beaufort Stief scoring a career high 21 with a career high 9 assists in the loss.

  • Fowle leads Ice Monkeys over Fire Ants

    The #30 seeded Ice Monkeys scored a major upset victory in OT over the Fire Ants 106-99 with Virgil Fowle scoring 32 with 7 boards. The Ice Monkeys become the highest ranked team to move onto the 3rd round.

    Evan Wile scored 25 with 9 assists in the loss.

  • Cloud step up in dominant performance to move to 2nd round

    The Cloud proved to be up to the challenge and then some crushing the Fire Ants by 42 in their most dominant performance of the season. Randall Madera led the team with 38 points including 6 of 7 from downtown while Jared Isaacs scored 30 with 7 boards. Caleb Weatherspoon scored 22 with 13 assists while Randal Lyne scored 18 with 8 rebounds.

    For the Fire Ants, nothing worked as they trailed by as much as 46 points in their loss which knocks them out of the playoffs. Evan Wile led the team with 22 points and 6 assists, but was a lone bright spot on the team that saw Israel Jacoby score just 15 with 4 boards.

    The Cloud move on to face the Moles in the semi-finals.

  • Cloud Catastrophe gives Fire Ants win to even series

    The game was basically unwinnable for the Cloud who succumbed to the Fire Ants 105-84. The series is now tied 2-2 as the Cloud go back home to try once again to close the series out.

    The Cloud lost Jared Isaacs in the first half after an incredible 6 fouls in just 12 minutes of play. Then things got worse when Cecil Frueh left with an injury, and probably won't be back until the next round of the playoffs... if the Cloud can hold on to make it there. Luckily the teams bench is deep but they will have to play a phenomenal game to have a chance to move on.

    The Fire Ants completely took advantage of the situation with big man Israel Jacoby scoring 27 points with 10 boards and 4 assists. Evan Wile scored 25 with 6 assists while Pedro Rock scored 21.

    The Cloud sported a 12-5 record during the regular season while the Fire Ants were 9-8 on the road.

  • Do or Die Game 5 for Fire Ants/Cloud

    The Fire Ants won the first, the Cloud won the next two, then the Fire Ants rounded it out with a game 4 win at home even the series up 2-2. The #3 seeded Cloud were the favorite to take it all, and may still be going back home for the final game, but they are missing a crucial player in Cecil Frueh who dropped 46 points earlier in the series. They are however probably the deepest team in the league including all-star and points leader Jared Isaacs, three point threat Randall Madera, solid center Randal Lyne, Caleb Weatherspoon, assist master at the point and role player Jackie Porcaro who steps in for Frueh at the other forward spot.

    The Fire Ants sport a deep bench as well but heavily rely on all-star center Israel Jacoby to set the tone of the game. A win will come down to wether Evan Wile and Gregory Cushing are able to step up with big games to give the team the boost they will need on the road.

  • Frueh lights it up with a career best 46

    The Cloud came out fast against the Fire Ants on their way to a 123-90 victory and 2-1 series lead. Just one victory away from the semi-finals where they will meet either the Moles or Ice Monkeys.

    Cecil Frueh lit up the scene hitting 16 shots on 26 attempts for a career high 46 points, and just off the pace of 48 set by Jared Isaacs for the franchise record. Isaacs scored 29 in the win. Randall Madera left with an injury after just 7 minutes.

    The Fire Ants will need to dig deep and get Israel Jacoby going as he has been putting up a dismal 5.3 rebounds in the playoffs. Evan Wile did score 30 for the team with 9 boards and 6 assists in the losing effort.

  • Fire Ants barely escape Wasps

    After establishing a commanding lead on the road vs the Wasps, the Fire Ants were able to squeak out a victory in the final minutes 102-101 handing the Wasps their 13th straight loss.

    Israel Jacoby scored 32 points with 11 rebounds, Evan Wile scored 28 with 6 assists. For the Wasps, Carson Augustine scored 23 with 4 assists coming off the bench.

  • Fire Ants end the streak, beat Eclipse

    It's been a long time coming after a franchise worst 6 losses in a row for the Fire Ants finally turn the corner in a hard fought 110-104 win over the Eclipse. The Fire Ants were able to stave off the Eclipse in the final minutes of the game led by Evan Wile who led the team with 32 points. Israel Jacoby scored 22 with 14 boards. For the Eclipse, Eli Jaycox scored 28 with 5 rebounds.

  • Implosion continues for Fire Ants

    After losing 4 in a row, things only got more difficult for the Fire Ants as they squared off against the Cloud... and got blown out of the water. By halftime the Cloud had a 75-51 point lead and would increase it to by as much as 33, never trailing and eventually winning 126-111.

    The Fire Ants have now lost 5 games in a row and drop to 15-10. Evan Wile led the team in scoring with 36 points and 10 assists.

  • Spectacular comeback win over Fire Ants

    The Meteors found themselves down by as much as 15, but their 4th quarter fury put them back in position for a run down the stretch. The team took a 3 point lead with 14 seconds to play and Evan Wile of the Fire Ants was unable to connect on the last second 3 point attempt giving the Meteors a much needed 104-101 victory over the leagues most winning team. Marshall Silvia had himself a huge game with a new career high 34 point outting. Dean Botelho scored 20 points with 6 rebounds.

    The Fire Ants battled the always tough Battle and came away in the end with their 10th win of the season in a 97-90 game. Gregory Cushing bettered his career high by 6 points with a game-high 30 including 10 assists. Israel Jacoby scored 20 points with 11 boards while the teams scoring leader Evan Wile had an off game scoring just 12 with 5 assists on 4 for 14 shooting.

    The Fire Ants clung to a thread to hold off the Broncos winning 98-96 on the road. Evan Wile had two huge 3 pointers to keep the Fire Ants up while the team survived by beating up the Broncos on the glass outrebounding them 49-38. Israel Jacoby was big scoring 20 points with 15 rebounds to lead the Fire Ants.
