Way Too Early Assessments
Despite his numbers down last season, Morris Rosa remains a beast. Rosa has come out the gates fiery hot scoring 38 and 47 points... both more than his highest output of the previous season. The former League MVP is also hitting 83% of his shots while the Impact aim for their 4th straight 20+ season.
The Slash offensive juggernaut rolls on. Despite the lineup changes, most notably Rawdon Connard , Khan Lefeaver and Gregorio Yule replacing Hiram Jurasz , Christopher Stovall and Randall Madera... the Slash look to be on course to lead the league for the 6th straight season in scoring. This also may be Connard's launch into superstardom.
Jamison Bomberger is still Jamison Bomberger. Back w/ the Ice Monkeys where he rose to superstardom, the 2-time League champion and reigning League MVP is keeps the Ice Monkeys as a threat despite losing Gregorio Yule to the Slash in a potential team rebuilding move.
The Eclipse won't miss Collin Trotter. While the team will not be as deep this season, the team can be nearly as potent with their Cobras deal sending Trotter away for the #1 pick Center Kazuo Bybee after Bomberger and Randal Lyne both departed for Free Agency.
Mohammed Lemaster will not save the Jacks. The team tried to get somewhat back to their roots by getting one of the teams original members who has since gone on to be a 1-time all-star and all-defensive player. He joins Defensive MVP Re Scalese to lead the team, but there are just still too many holes for the team not to have their 6th straight losing season.
Never discount the Meteors. The team never seems to rise to the level of top tier... but the trio of Jose Teske , Homer Gandy and Trevor Skabo will keep the team as a contender throughout the season.
The Wolves are scarier than last season. Not only does the team have a bucketload of potential all-stars on the court at all times and have the potential to put up even sillier offensive numbers than last season... they can also still play defense. After their franchise best 29-6 campaign last season where they led the league in point differential at +14.3ppg, it's possible the team stretches that to challenge the Slash's record +17.2 differential from two seasons ago.

Slash: Full Speed Ahead
The Slash haven't lost a step from last season when they led the league with an unmatched offensive juggernaut. They led the league in scoring, points, field goal percentage, three pointer percentage and assists on their way to a #1 seed in the playoffs, falling short in a 2-3 series loss to the eventual champion Ice Monkeys.
This season they have been slashing through opponents with a vengence, scoring an unheard of 124 points per game as the team is hitting nearly 54% from the field. All 5 starters have been playing at all-star levels, led by 4-time all-star Christopher Stovall who has been unstoppable with over 25 points and 9.5 rebounds per game and hitting over 63% from the field. He is the early favorite for League MVP.
Not to be outdone, long-time Diamond Cliff Labbe joins Stovall at the other forward spot averaging over 24ppg in what is shaping up to be a career season. Evan Wile and Randall Madera are right in step, both with over 9 assists per game while still both having double-digit point outtings every game. Hiram Jurasz in just his second season, and first season starting is hitting 65% from the field with nearly 15ppg and over 8rpg.
At this rate, the Slash look unstoppable. Their only loss came while scoring 143 in OT to a Terriers team who had to break the league record with 147 points to win.

Scanlon returns to Slash in huge win over Diamonds
Don't count the Slash out just yet, they rolled to an easy victory over the Diamonds by 31 as Truman Scanlon made his return to Slash stadium after being traded last season in the Christopher Stovall deal. He didn't disappoint as the teams all-time leading rebounder pulled down 11 boards with 22 points in the win.
The entire team clicked as all 5 starters had double-doubles with Randall Madera leading the way scoring 26 with 11 assists. Even rookie Isod Safron came off the bench for a near double with 8 points and 8 boards.
The Slash pulled in a season high 49 boards as Scanlon should help a defense that ranks last in rebounds per game as they attempt to continue keeping themselves in the bottom mix for a playoff position.
-
Villano,Rosa,1st round draft pick traded to Cloud from Slash for Weatherspoon,Madera
The Slash have reached a deal with the Cloud that will send Stan Villano, Denis Rosa, and a season 6, 1st round draft pick to the Cloud in exchange for Caleb Weatherspoon, Randall Madera, and Jody Ault.
Villano averaged 7.4 PPG, 4.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 19.3 minutes per game. Rosa averaged 9.5 PPG, 1.9 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 20.5 minutes per game. Weatherspoon averaged 9.3 PPG, 2.1 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 24.7 minutes per game. Madera averaged 20.4 PPG, 2.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists in 35.1 minutes per game.

Cloud win 4th quarter in back and forth game, end Wolves streak
The Wolves took what would be their last lead, 91-90, with 11 mins reminaing in the game. But the shots stopped falling for them after that while the Cloud's continued to go in as they move to 4-4 on the year. Jared Isaacs (27/5/6) and Randall Madera (32 pts, 9 dimes) led the way shooting a combined 58% from the field.
The Cloud continue to be a thorn in the Wolves’ side—particularly Ill Jackson’s—going back to last season. They are now 5-0 against the Wolves since last year including the Team Tournament, and 7-0 against Jackson-coached teams. In those games, the Cloud have been led by Isaacs and Madera averaging 28/4/3 and 23/1/7, respectively, and have outshot the Wolves 51% to 40%. The Wolves have a lot of ground to make up in this series in what we hope turns into an actual 2-sided rivalry one day.
-
Randall Madera finishes 1st in the league in three point percentage
Randall Madera averaged .465 three point percentage per game this season finishing in 1st place leaguewide. The Cloud congratulate him on this accomplishment. -
Ice Monkeys on fire as they face the Cloud in Game 1
The Ice Monkeys (23-12) have won 8 out of their last 9 games to earn the #1 spot and will host the #8 seed Cloud in Round 1 of the Season 3 playoffs. The Cloud (19-16) bounced back from an 0-5 start and improved to 16-11; however they fell to 18-16 after losing three in a row before saving themselves with a win versus the Badgers in the regular season finale to earn themselves a playoff spot. Led by star Jared Isaacs (23.5 ppg, #3 in league) and league 3pt leader Randall Madera (.465), the Cloud look to make a run for their second league championship after winning it all in Season 1. The Ice Monkeys come in with just one playoff win for the franchise, but look to complete an amazing turnaround season after missing the playoffs last season. Led by a well-rounded group of starters, the Ice Monkeys come in having had five different scoring leaders the last five games. Earl Wilt stands out with 21.0 ppg and is second in the league in shooting (.589), while Tommie Drey is 5th in the league in rebounds (9.2 rpg). While the Ice Monkeys lead the league by far in points (106.4 ppg), and the Cloud lead the league in three-point percentage (.386), both teams are atop the league in overall field goal shooting and two-point shots. This should be a high-scoring series and could come down to who shoots better. The Cloud will need to continue to hit their threes if they want to keep up with the high-powered Ice Monkeys. Otherwise, the Ice Monkeys should take the series easily as they have been the more consistent team. The Cloud won their lone matchup this season 102-100, their first win vs. the Ice Monkeys, but the Ice Monkeys still lead 3-1 all-time.

Cloud continue spectacular season turnaround beating Broncos 112-109
The Broncos and Cloud squared off in a battle of two teams deadset on playoff basketball with the Cloud coming in as one of the hottest teams around on a 4 game win streak, and the Broncos trying to keep afloat after going 1-4 the past 5 games.
The Broncos jumped out early at home going up by 18, but the Cloud battled back despite having Jared Isaacs foul out early after 17 points. Randall Madera took the reigns scoring 39 points on 17 of 26 shooting along with Randal Lyne scoring 22 getting the team back in striking distance and keeping them in the lead with 2 minutes left to win by 3 after Alden Swoffer missed a game tying 3 pointer. For the Broncos, Jake Lomeli scored 39 points with 9 boards.
-
Randall Madera re-signs with Cloud
Randall Madera has signed on to play for another 3 seasons with the Cloud for a contract worth $3,650,000 per season.
-
So far the Cloud seem to have made the right moves during the offseason to give themselves a good shot at a repeat title. They traded away reliable 6th man Jackie Porcaro who is now leading the Wolves, but they added The X-Factor Tommie Drey who was underutilized by the Wolves last season as well as role player Brandon Siva to go along with their championship front of Randall Madera, Jared Isaacs, Randal Lyne, Caleb Weatherspoon and Cecil Frueh.
Tommie Drey adds an element of surprise to every game and has shown that he can be whatever you need him to be, wether it's dropping 30 in a game, pulling down 15 boards or dishing dimes, he built for the job. Once the season comes down to crunchtime, many think The X-Factor Tommie Drey will be the player that makes for breaks the run for two titles.
-
Cloud in familiar form... ease past Slash
The Cloud are back on the horse after a suprising loss to the Badgers, jumping back to beat the Slash by 9 points at home. Both Jared Isaacs and Randall Madera posted over 30 points while the X-Factor Tommie Drey put up an unusual double-double for himself pulling in 13 boards with a career high 11 assists. Caleb Weatherspoon had one for himself with 17 points, 6 boards and 10 assists.
-
Champions improve to 3-0
It's early yet, but the Cloud have showed no signs of deviating from their championship form of last season defeating the Eclipse 122-101 in a true team effort. Caleb Weatherspoon was two assists shy of a triple double scoring 20 points with a career high 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Tommie Drey continued to be a difference maker scoring 19 with 14 boards while Jared Isaacs scored 24 with 9 boards and Randall Madera with a team high 27. The team is averaging an astounding 121+ppg.
The Eclipse look to still be holding up solidly as their early difficult schedule sees them able to put up points and solid numbers. Andy Fredricks scored 16 points with 12 assists, while rookie Garret Blosser played a solid all-around game scoring 12 with 8 boards and 7 assists.
-
Cloud make quick work of Badgers
The #6 Cloud had no problems disposing of the Badgers leading by as much as 33 before beating them 103-80. The League II champions move onto round 2 and will face the Urchins/Meteors winner. Randall Madera lit up the court with 29 on 12 of 19 shooting. Jared Isaacs scored 22.

Cloud move on to Championship!
With a 116-98 win over the Moles, the Cloud will move on to the first ever League II championship game vs either the Cheery O's or Lizards. In a game that saw 22 lead changes and 11 ties, the Cloud finally pulled away to win by 18 points after the Moles Trevor Skabo was ejected after just 14 minutes and 8 points of play. His replacement Lew Hannon managed just 2 points the rest of the game in his place.
Caleb Weatherspoon led the Cloud with 29 points and 13 assists. Back from missing the previous game, Randall Madera led the game with 30 points.
The #3 Cloud win the series 3-1 and move on to the championship ahead of the #2 seeded Moles.

Cloud step up in dominant performance to move to 2nd round
The Cloud proved to be up to the challenge and then some crushing the Fire Ants by 42 in their most dominant performance of the season. Randall Madera led the team with 38 points including 6 of 7 from downtown while Jared Isaacs scored 30 with 7 boards. Caleb Weatherspoon scored 22 with 13 assists while Randal Lyne scored 18 with 8 rebounds.
For the Fire Ants, nothing worked as they trailed by as much as 46 points in their loss which knocks them out of the playoffs. Evan Wile led the team with 22 points and 6 assists, but was a lone bright spot on the team that saw Israel Jacoby score just 15 with 4 boards.
The Cloud move on to face the Moles in the semi-finals.
-
Do or Die Game 5 for Fire Ants/Cloud
The Fire Ants won the first, the Cloud won the next two, then the Fire Ants rounded it out with a game 4 win at home even the series up 2-2. The #3 seeded Cloud were the favorite to take it all, and may still be going back home for the final game, but they are missing a crucial player in Cecil Frueh who dropped 46 points earlier in the series. They are however probably the deepest team in the league including all-star and points leader Jared Isaacs, three point threat Randall Madera, solid center Randal Lyne, Caleb Weatherspoon, assist master at the point and role player Jackie Porcaro who steps in for Frueh at the other forward spot.
The Fire Ants sport a deep bench as well but heavily rely on all-star center Israel Jacoby to set the tone of the game. A win will come down to wether Evan Wile and Gregory Cushing are able to step up with big games to give the team the boost they will need on the road.
-
Frueh lights it up with a career best 46
The Cloud came out fast against the Fire Ants on their way to a 123-90 victory and 2-1 series lead. Just one victory away from the semi-finals where they will meet either the Moles or Ice Monkeys.
Cecil Frueh lit up the scene hitting 16 shots on 26 attempts for a career high 46 points, and just off the pace of 48 set by Jared Isaacs for the franchise record. Isaacs scored 29 in the win. Randall Madera left with an injury after just 7 minutes.
The Fire Ants will need to dig deep and get Israel Jacoby going as he has been putting up a dismal 5.3 rebounds in the playoffs. Evan Wile did score 30 for the team with 9 boards and 6 assists in the losing effort.
-
Cloud continue to win, key game vs Wolves
The Cloud looked dominant once again winning their 4th in a row 108-98 over the Wolves. Jared Isaacs scored 27 points, Caleb Weatherspoon had a career high 28 points with 11 boards and Randall Madera scored 23. The Cloud are now 18-8, tied with the Lizards for first place.
The Wolves dropped to 14-11 in the loss. Tommie Drey scored 25 with 10 rebounds to lead the team.
-
Cloud make statement win over Fire Ants

The big 3, Jared Isaacs, Randall Madera and Randal Lyne all scored 28 points to lead the team. Caleb Weatherspoon had 13 with 14 assists. This is the teams 4th win in a row.
-
Cloud beat Impact for 2-0 head-to-head win behind Isaacs record 48
The Cloud took control of the game versus the Impact in the second half building a 17 point lead behind Jared Isaacs league record 48 points on 19 for 23 shooting. He remains the leagues leading scorer.
This gives the Cloud the tie-breaker advantage over the Impact. Unfortunately injuries have plagued the Cloud, first Randall Madera, then Randal Lyne, now Cecil Frueh who had been playing extremley well. He will miss at least 6 games for the team.
-
Destined to win?
The Cloud have been one of the more curiousity provoking teams in the league, ranked 9th in the preseason polls, they have climbed their way up to the top power ranking spot with good reason.
Jared Isaacs and Randall Madera are both scoring nearly 30 points per game, which is unheard of for being on the same team, while the pick up of Cecil Frueh has proven to be one of the best trades so far this season. He has worked his way into a starting role has put up huge scoring numbers.
The team was without Madera for 8 games, now they are missing starting center Randal Lyne, who should return shortly. Once the team is solid and getting contributions from all key players, the team will be the most formidable opponent and very much the favorite to grab the #1 playoff position.
-
Cloud end losing streak at 2, Frueh scores 38
The Cloud, known for their scoring are not used to it coming from anyone else other than Jared Isaacs or Randall Madera. Don't let Cecil Frueh know that, he's been playing at a high level lately, this game scoring a career and game high 38 points as he made 17 shots on 30 attempts. Madera scored 23 while Isaacs had 15.
-
Pouring buckets for the Cloud
After losing back-to-back games for the first time, the Cloud rebounded in a big way defeating the Cheery O's 113-90 and marking the 5th straight game over 100 for the team. Randall Madera had a huge day breaking the team scoring record with 43 points on 15 of 22 shooting including 7 three pointers. Jared Isaacs scored 29 points on 11 of 24 shooting and Cecil Frueh scored 24 coming off the bench in 31 minutes.
The Cloud remain atop the standings with a 12-4 record.
-
Cloud lose heartbreaker to Wasps
The two teams traded blows the entire game with the lead changing hands 18 times and 5 times in the last two minutes. Randall Madera did all he could with hitting what could have been game winners, but it in the end it was the Wasps Carson Augustine with the final buzzerbeating shot to put the Wasps up for the win 108-106 over the Cloud ending the Clouds 6 game win streak.
The Cloud were hampered by turnovers with Cecil Frueh contributing 8 of the eteams 23 vs the Wolves 13. Jared Isaacs led all scorers with 32 points while Caleb Weatherspoon dished 16 assists while Madera put up 27.
-
Madera's return is huge as Cloud take control in 4th to beat Eclipse
Randall Madera wasted no time at all erasing any questions his absence might have presented scoring 38 points and tying a league best 9 three pointers going 9 for 9 from the perimeter with 7 assists as the Cloud took control in the 4th quarter to beat the Eclipse 127-99 and stay up in the league standings with a best 11-2 record.
Jared Isaacs sputtered out the gate going just 4 for 20 before getting hot to finish with 20 points. The surprise of day was Cecil Frueh, playing just his 4th game after being traded from the Badgers coming off the bench to score a career best 32 points with 6 boards in just 26 minutes.
The downside of the day was Randal Lyne leaving the game with an agravated calf pull. He is expected to miss at least 9 games.
-
The Cloud steamroll Lizards for 5th straight win
The latest power rankings had the Cloud jump 4 spots to #1 and they put on quite a show for it destroying the formidable Lizards 101-77. Caleb Weatherspoon had a career day with a near triple double, 23 points, 10 boards and 8 assists. Jackie Porcaro scored 29 with 11 boards while the leagues leading scorer Jared Isaacs put in 28.
The Cloud now sport the best record in the league at 10-2 (6-0 at home), and with Randall Madera coming back from injury any game now, the team will just be that must stronger.
