  • Way Too Early Assessments

Despite his numbers down last season, Morris Rosa remains a beast. Rosa has come out the gates fiery hot scoring 38 and 47 points... both more than his highest output of the previous season. The former League MVP is also hitting 83% of his shots while the Impact aim for their 4th straight 20+ season.

The Slash offensive juggernaut rolls on. Despite the lineup changes, most notably Rawdon Connard , Khan Lefeaver and Gregorio Yule replacing Hiram Jurasz , Christopher Stovall and Randall Madera... the Slash look to be on course to lead the league for the 6th straight season in scoring. This also may be Connard's launch into superstardom.

Jamison Bomberger is still Jamison Bomberger. Back w/ the Ice Monkeys where he rose to superstardom, the 2-time League champion and reigning League MVP is keeps the Ice Monkeys as a threat despite losing Gregorio Yule to the Slash in a potential team rebuilding move.

The Eclipse won't miss Collin Trotter. While the team will not be as deep this season, the team can be nearly as potent with their Cobras deal sending Trotter away for the #1 pick Center Kazuo Bybee after Bomberger and Randal Lyne both departed for Free Agency.

Mohammed Lemaster will not save the Jacks. The team tried to get somewhat back to their roots by getting one of the teams original members who has since gone on to be a 1-time all-star and all-defensive player. He joins Defensive MVP Re Scalese to lead the team, but there are just still too many holes for the team not to have their 6th straight losing season.

Never discount the Meteors. The team never seems to rise to the level of top tier... but the trio of Jose Teske , Homer Gandy and Trevor Skabo will keep the team as a contender throughout the season.

The Wolves are scarier than last season. Not only does the team have a bucketload of potential all-stars on the court at all times and have the potential to put up even sillier offensive numbers than last season... they can also still play defense. After their franchise best 29-6 campaign last season where they led the league in point differential at +14.3ppg, it's possible the team stretches that to challenge the Slash's record +17.2 differential from two seasons ago.

Armand Whyman scored 24 with 9 boards while Collin Trotter scored 17 with 7 assists. They face the Broncos back on the road to attempt to tie the series and force a game 5.

  • Eclipse squeeze past Slash in OT thriller

The Eclipse came out strong mounting an 18 point lead early in the 3rd and tied series game against the Slash. However by the time the half closed, the 70% plus shooting by the Eclipse dwindled and the game was virtually tied.

As time dwindled in the 4th, Omar Platter hit the game tying shot to send things into OT at 122-122. In OT the Eclipse were able to hold the slight edge throughout winning by 4 and taking a 2-1 lead in the best of 5 series.

Michael Mattox led the team with 34 points, Malik Dullen scored 25 with 13 boards and Collin Trotter dished 15 assists with 22 points. Evan Wile scored 22 with 15 assists while Christopher Stovall scored 29 and 10. Cliff Labbe scored 16 with 11 boards off the bench in the losing cause.

The Eclipse attempt to close out the series at home in what should be another thriller.

  • Trotter injured, will miss at least 6 games.

  • Eclipse end Diamonds streak, lose Olp

It was quite the match between the Eclipse and Diamonds with the Eclipse squeaking out the win on a Michael Mattox jumper with no time left 118-117. That ends the Diamonds franchise best 11 game win streak. Armand Whyman continued his career season scoring 29 to lead the way. Collin Trotter scored 22 with 12 assists in the victory.

The win however came at a cost, Marion Olp becomes the 2nd starter on the team to go down with injury joining Garrett Blosser in missing the remainder of the season.

Evan Wile scored 17 with 9 assists and 7 boards while Collin Trotter scored 21 with 6 assists.

  • Diamonds make it interesting, but fall to Eclipse for 14th straight loss

The Diamonds fell again at home to the Eclipse 103-98 despite giving themselves a chance to strike with under a minute left. The 14 losses now tie the Wasps for the longest losing streak in league history. Coincidently, the team plays the Wasps on the road for the unfortunate chance to break the record.

Cliff Labbe had great numbers despite it, scoring 32 with 14 boards, but shot just 11 of 27. Collin Trotter scored 26 with 11 boards. Brady Preston was injured and figures to miss the rest of the season.

The Eclipse were able to win their 14th game of the season, guaranteeing that the team won't be worse than their franchise worst 14-21 record in season 1, but of course it remains a very dissapointing season for the reigning champions.

  • Moles crush Diamonds sending team to 13th straight loss

It looked like a playground match for the Moles as they hit 56% from the field, the highest this season for 128 points, also a season high. Hiram Atkins scored 32 with 9 boards Kent Noll scored 30 before fouling out, Vince Varney scored 17 and 10 boards while Eli Reyes was yet again just shy of a triple double with 8 points, 11 boards and 13 assists.

The Diamonds were led by Collin Trotter's 44 points, his career, and franchise record which bested his own record of 40 set this season as well. However the Diamonds fell to their 13th straight loss, now just 1 shy of the all time record set by the Wasps in season 1.

  • Career day for Preston in Diamonds first win

Brady Preston was on point vs the Cobras as the Diamonds crushed the latter team 120-84 on the strength of Preston's 37 points, 6 boards and 8 assists. Collin Trotter also was huge with 31 points and 10 assists as the Diamonds snap their opening 3 game losing streak with a solid win.

  • Hamel wins out in career nights for him and Trotter

Both Tyrone Hamel and Collin Trotter set career high and respective franchise highs for their teams as the Wranglers beat the Diamonds 109-98. Hamel scored 47 with 11 boards on 16 of 24 shooting as he has showed in preseason and early on that he should be the frontrunner for MVP of the league. Trotter kept the Diamonds afloat with his 40 points on 18 of 23 shooting.

  • Collin Trotter finishes 3rd in the league in assists

Collin Trotter averaged 8.1 assists per game this season finishing in 3rd place leaguewide. The Diamonds congratulate him on this accomplishment.
  • Trotter selected as an All-Star

  • Moles have no problem taking game 1

The Moles have been one of the most inconsistent teams this season, but they made easy work of the Diamonds taking game 1 108-101 with contributions from everyone  except the one who is normally the teams savior, Hiram Atkins, he only scored 4 points int 18 minutes. The other 4 starters scored at least 20 points with Buford Lashley scoring 31 and Joe Gilliland pulling in 14 boards. For the Diamonds, Cliff Labbe scored 31 with 11 boards while Collin Trotter scored 20 with 10 boards

  • Diamonds beat Moles handedly

The Diamonds continue to play very well ousting the Moles 131-107 to improve to 12-6 on the season and dropping the Moles to 11-7. The Diamonds got contributions from their big 3 Brady Preston with 25 and 8 boards, Cliff Labbe with 32 and 10 boards, Collin Trotter with 27 and 9 boards and then a big game from the 5th pick, rookie Hunter Tiller who scored a new career high 23 points with 8 boards.

For the Moles, Hiram Atkins struggled to just 6 points with 8 boards while a surprise performance from backup center Joe Gilliland was a welcome surprise scoring 31 points with 8 boards in the loss.

  • Drey and Cloud make simple work of Diamonds

The reigning champion Cloud improved to a quick 2-0 in season 2, easily getting by the Diamonds 124-99. Tommie Drey put up a career high 36 points with 14 rebounds to lead the team. Drey is expected to have a tremendous impact for the Cloud as the team sacrificed some depth for his hard-nosed play and view him as the x-factor to get them back to the championship.

For the Diamonds, Collin Trotter had another terrific game scoring 30 points with 10 assists and 5 boards.

  • Diamonds beat Wasps in perhaps Wasps best chance to end streak

The Diamonds and Wasps have been the for the most part the worst teams in the league all season, but lately its been the Wasps by a mile entering the game on a 9 game losing streak. This would have been their best chance to end the streak as the Diamonds are missing key player Cliff Labbe, it wasn't meant to be... even after closing a 20 point Diamonds lead to take the lead for the first time, the Wasps squandered it away losing 103-113 for their 10 straight loss. It only gets much harder from here... next up are the Impact, Fire Ants and Wolves.

Rey Crankshaw was the team leader with 24 points and 12 boards. For the Diamonds, Brady Preston was huge with 38 points, 10 boards and 5 assists while rebound leader Marion Olp scored 19 with 14 boards. Collin Trotter had perhaps his best game of the season scoring 25 points, 8 boards and a franchise record 17 assists.
