Moles barely get by Lizards to go over .500
Several times it seemed the Moles had the game put away, but just couldn't close ending up in OT against the Lizards, who beat them previously on the road this season. Once in OT, the Moles went on a scoring frenzy with 18 in the 5 minute extra quarter to win 117-111.
Kent Noll led the scoring with 26, but Eli Reyes was the teams weapon, starting just his 3rd game of the season, but notching his 3rd career triple double with 14 points, 13 boards, 16 assists while going an usually good 5 for 5 from the line. Welcome back Gilliland!
The Moles pulled the trigger on a trade to bring Joe Gilliland back to the team from the Jacks in exchange for Hunter Tiller amongst others who the team felt was not paying off the way they expected. Gilliland did not disappoint. There is a new buzz around the Moles as the team struggles to get back to .500 in what has been by most accounts so far a very disappointing season.
They handedly defeated the Battle 127-84 in their most decisive win of the season forcing 21 turnovers and draining 10 of 23 three pointers.
Gilliland scored 18 with 8 rebound while Brendan Spain was brilliant with 28 points and 5 assists going 10 of 11 from the stripe (including his first missed free throw of the season). Kent Noll had 25 points with 4 steals and 6 assists.

Kent Noll suffered at the line, but hit 4 of 5 from downtown where the team tied a franchise record with 15 three pointers made. Noll had 27. Corbin Jacko was also on point despite 7 turnovers scoring 19 points, with 13 boards and a huge career high 7 assists. Buford Lashley was perfect in his 12 minutes of play going 5 of 5 for 10 points.
The team contained Harland Brenneman holding him to 6 points on 1 of 4 shooting, however Gregory Cushing was dazzling with 24 points, 9 assists and 5 boards leading the Fire Ants to a 11 of 17 shooting from the perimeter which of course was not enough.

Brendan Spain got off to a quick start leading the way with 25 points on 9 of 13 shooting while Corbin Jacko notched a double-double with 10 boards and 21 points. Kent Noll still wasn't in form, but did score 21 points with 6 steals. The team had no answer for the Jacks Terrence Mcniff who had a field day scoring 30 including 5 three pointers, but that wasn't enough as the Jacks continue their worst season in history standings-wise.
The Moles on the other hand still have a slim chance to secure the #1 spot in the playoffs if they can win out versus the Impact and Cloud, and hope the Slash lose 2 of their next 3 contests.

Moles lay flat in franchises worst beating to the Slash
It was expected to be a spectacular offensive display... and it was... for the Slash. The Moles could not keep up as they were absolutely pounded by the Slash 139-99. It was by far the most points any team has ever put up against the Moles in franchise history... despite this season touting the #1 defense in the league. The Moles connected on just 3 perimeter shots for 16%, also one of the worst in team history. To make matters worst, they lost Kent Noll to injury in the 2nd quarter. Moles Ready To Roll
Forward Corbin Jacko joins the Moles as the most highly anticipated rookies in franchise history after the team lucked out with the #1 pick overall. The Moles are placing their hopes of the future on his young shoulders, surrounding him with proven talent on all sides.
Unfortunately the preseason didn't meet the high expectations the team or fans had despite getting the most playing time. He scored a solid 15.8ppg in 31mpg, but shot just 41.5% from the floor, easily the worst of the players in the main rotation. He did show huge promise from the line and on the defensive side which is something the team is very happy with. They hope he's able to gel with his all-star caliber teammates as the season gets under way.
The Moles return former all-star, and previous League II #1 overall pick Kent Noll who will play shooting guard, who will be expected to lead the team in scoring and return to his all-star form. The other starter being returned is fellow lifetime Mole and Team MVP forward Hiram Atkins who brings a similar skillset to the table, but will be even more of a shooter.
The Moles bring in two key aquisitions... from the Terriers, guard Jeffery Espy to run the offense. He is not expected to do any bulk scoring, but should be solid at the point. The other huge aquisition via free agency is former Jack Dirk Roberson to give a huge bump in inside presence. The 3-time all-star and 2-time all-league selection was the most highly saught after center this season, and rejoins his former teammate Knoll with a new 4 season, 68m contract. He shores up what they hope will be the best defense in the league.
The Moles do lose a couple of key players in guard who had spent his entire career with the team, and center Virgil Fowle who's played a major role the previous two seasons.
Coach Kingpin advises that anything less than a championship will not be tolerated this season. The Moles look to return to the playoffs after missing it for the first time in franchise history last season with a 16-19 record.

Dirk Roberson also got significant time with 35 minutes, 24 points and 5 boards in a solid debut... however it was newcomer Jeffery Espy who was for the most part very solid dishing 7 assists with 17 points,2 steals and a block. However he did cause concern with 6 turnovers in the 107-104 win over the Fire Ants. Kent Noll started really strong hitting 8 of 10 for 19 points in his limited 1st half minutes.

For the Wolves, Jose Teske led the way with 26 points, 6 assists and 5 boards, while Trent Ewert had another big game off the bench scoring 25 on 10 of 14 shooting with 5 assists.

With flying colors

For the first time in franchise history, the Moles begin the season 3-0 and the performances have been utter dominance. They held the Wranglers to 78 points, beating them by 40. This after crushing the Jacks by 36 and the Terriers by 29.
Hiram Atkins played one of his best games of his career with 38 points and 17 boards while Kent Noll put in 35 with 8 assists and 2 blocks. Eli Reyes put in another solid game as well with 9 points, 8 boards and 9 assists while Imrich Gelvin pulled down 16 boards.
They held Tyrone Hamel to just 10 points with 11 boards while the Wranglers leading scorer, rookie Azriel Gerloff could muster up just 14 points.
-
Moles face tough test against Wranglers
In their bid to start 3-0, the Moles will face the stacked Wranglers squad at home for a true test of where the team measures up. So far Kent Noll has been top notch and Eli Reyes could be in for the season of his career. Many eyes however will be on Imrich Gelvin, the rookie center as a meter to see if he can really hold a team up and give the Moles a much needed heavy presence inside.
-

Rookie Imrich Gelvin was impressive with 15 points, 7 boards and 6 assists in his debut. Eli Reyes just missed a triple double scoring 8 while leading the team in rebounds at 12 and assists with 12.
-
Kent Noll named Team MVP

-
Moles face Impact in must win game
The Impact weren't too hot of a team to begin with, but now things cool off even more, as $29mil man Morris Rosa is sidelined with a calf injury for what may be the season remainder. Modesto Cogan will be running the show for the team, a solid point guard.. along with 2nd season sharp shooter Matt Tames at forward.
The Moles have been getting more consistent play from Hiram Atkins late, and Kent Noll seems to be steadying for the season. The Moles however would love to get more touches for Eli Reyes who has been the teams real catalyst since taking over the starting job mid season.
-
Moles crush Diamonds sending team to 13th straight loss
It looked like a playground match for the Moles as they hit 56% from the field, the highest this season for 128 points, also a season high. Hiram Atkins scored 32 with 9 boards Kent Noll scored 30 before fouling out, Vince Varney scored 17 and 10 boards while Eli Reyes was yet again just shy of a triple double with 8 points, 11 boards and 13 assists.

Moles cruise at home beating Meteors
It was no contest from start to finish at home for the Moles, beating the Meteors 122-98, making it a perfect 2-0 for the season against the team. Kent Noll led the team with 36, including 5 3-pointers. The 122 points marked the second highest output this season for the Moles. -
Moles strive for 6th straight
The Moles bring their 5 game win streak home against the Fire Ants trying to tie a franchise record 6th straight win which was accomplished in season 1. The Fire Ants provide a pretty good opportunity for the feat, as the team has been a bottom dweller pretty much all season long.
The Moles have been relying heavily on Hiram Atkins as the team lead as Kent Noll has been slow to start the past few games. Eli Reyes has been coming on very strong, a triple-double threat ever since he was inserted into the starting lineup over Buford Lashley who has been struggling.
The game is crucial for the Moles as they try to ease back into a tightly contested 8th playoff spot.
-
Wolves get best of Moles in hard fought OT game

-
Big Test for the Moles as they face Wolves on the Road
The Moles have finally hit their stride winning 3 games in a row, they will try to make it 4 against the Wolves on the road. It would be their longest streak since season 1. The Wolves are atop the standings at 14-5 while the Moles sit at 11-8, however according to the last 4 power rankings, the teams rank 1 and 2 as the favorites for the championship.
The Moles have been getting sensational play from Hiram Atkins lately, while perennial all-star Kent Noll has simmered a bit after a red hot start to the season. Vince Varney has been solid in what could prove to be his finest season to round out the cornerstones of the team.
For the Wolves, recently benched Jose Teske leads the team with 16+ ppg and is their leading FT and 3P option, however his sporadic play midseason has many wondering if he will rebound even in time for playoffs. Dudley Cronin has been running the offense with Trent Ewert playing well and positive play from rookie Ridge Brydell.
It should be an intense and interesting matchup between the two teams and a barameter especially for the Moles who lost opening night this season at home to the Wolves 113-102.

-
Eclipse venture into Moles Stadium for championship rematch
Last season it was quite a different story as both teams were well above .500 at the halfway point in the season. Currently both teams are still struggling to find their stride with the Moles at 9-8 and the Eclipse sitting at 7-11.
Kent Noll has hit a mid-season slump after a very fast start, so the Moles will be relying more on Hiram Atkins to take the load, while they have also been tinkering with the center position, as Virgil Fowle has been more consistent than his counterpart Edward Furbee.
For the Eclipse, Judson Ibarra has been struggling all season and found his way to the bench last game in favor of Carlton Poling who is having a solid season. Miquel Windish finally made his starting debut putting up a double-double with 16 points and 15 boards. Stan Villano backed him up after a string of bad performances.
If the Moles are able to pull this one out, it will be because of the perimeter game. If the Eclipse take it, it will be because they kept their turnovers low.
-

Ready to Noll
Kent Noll, the Moles prize pick up during the offseason has high hopes for the team this season. Noll was the #1 pick overall in the premiere of League II, going to the Cheery O's, leading them to the playoffs, and winning the playoff MVP award. But they fell short, losing in the championship game to the Cloud.
His next season, he wound up on the overloaded Jacks roster, heavily favored to win the season 2 title. They made the playoffs, but this time he and the Jack would be outmatched by the eventual champion Eclipse in the first round. Noll's numbers would suffer as the team did not have a central figure as the team's leader.
This time, Noll joins the Moles who are no strangers to contending for the championship. In season one the Moles were defeated in round 2 of the playoffs by the eventual champion Cloud. And last season after starting out 16-8, they faltered going 3-8, stumbling into the playoffs, getting their feet back, but faltering again in the championship to the Eclipse.
This season, Noll is the team's centerpiece as previous Moles MVP Hiram Atkins will play second fiddle. Noll is surrounded by a solid group of players with fellow guard Vince Varney, newly aquired center Edward Furbee who may be the best passing big man in the league, two time All-Star Atkins and always high-scoring forward Buford Lashley.
With that lineup, Moles coach Tha Kingpin has the team ready to roll into their 3rd straight playoffs and finally get over the championship series hump.

New Look Moles
The Moles open up the 3rd season in League II with a fresh new look in time for the regular season debut against the Wolves. 3rd season head coach, Tha Kingpin has the team looking good on the hunt for their 3rd straight playof appearance.
The team made a few key moves this offseason, but the biggest would be bringing in Kent Noll, the first player ever taken in the League II draft, who is coming off of a somewhat dissappointing season for the Jacks, but will figure to be the focal point for the Moles. The Moles sent Joe Gilliland and Moses Boisvert to the Jacks in return.
Former All-Star Edwin Schenk was also let go to the Broncos in favor of Edward Furbee, who came at half the cost of Schenk. Furbee signed a 1 season contract for nearly $7 mill.
Major Free Agents aquired include Virgil Fowle and Brendan Spain who both figure to play major supporting roles.

Playoff race shaping up as League I heads into final round
The playoff race is nearly set, and it's looking like the Cloud, the reigning champs will be left out in the cold. They have folded running into the franchises worst stretch in history winning just once in their last 8 games.
Meanwhile the Impact are looking virtually invincible, the Jacks are still playing well even with Kent Noll out at least until the playoffs roll around, the Lizards trying to hold on while their star Tyrone Hamel comes back to the rotation, the Diamonds looking pretty well polished from all sides, the Eclipse surprising everyone by keeping up with the big dawgs, the Moles limping in trying to figure out where they went wrong, the Broncos and Meteors clinging on for dear life and of course the Cloud, currently on the outside looking in.
It should be quite a ride as some very crucial final games on the horizon as the regular season winds down!

Edward Thrash led the team with 11 assists and 19 points while rookie sensation Gary Ladd scored 21 with 8 boards and 6 assists.
-
Ice Monkeys ride Fowle to victory
It was a huge win for the Ice Monkeys over the Jacks, especially given that the Ice Monkeys were without star guard Wilfred Shobe in the lineup due to a knee injury for the next 8-9 games. The game came down to the wire with the Jacks getting two good looks to send the game to OT, but Gary Ladd and Tom Barringer both missed their shots with time winding down.
Virgil Fowle was a monster scoring a career high 42 points in the win including going 14 of 19 from the stripe. Tommie Drey put up a double-double scoring 16 with 15 boards. For the Jacks, Kent Noll led the team with 31 points.
-
Cloud hand Jacks a dose of reality
The reigning champion Cloud topped the last undefeated team in the league crushing the Jacks by 30, 119-89 in what many think could be a championship game preview. The point total allowed by the Jacks was the second most ever allowed in team history. While the Cloud hit 58% from downtown while the Jacks were a dreadful 2 of 22. Kent Noll could muster just 1 for 8 himself, however did still manage 24 points and 6 assists.
The Jacks tinkered with their lineup, giving Rosendo Reiss and Chang Erwin another start, over the usual Edward Thrash and Judson Ibarra... not a good idea as both Reiss and Erwin struggled.
For the Cloud, things were just clicking again... scoring 112+ for the 4th time in their first 5 games. Jared Isaacs hit 4 of 5 from downtown to add to his 28 points. Caleb Weatherspoon scored 23 with 9 assists and 7 boards while Randal Lyne pulled in 11 boards with 23 points.

It was a homecoming for Kent Noll against his former stomping grounds where he mustered just 18 points. Christopher Stovall took charge for the Cheery O's with nearly identical numbers to a couple games ago scoring a career high tying 42 points with 14 boards including 7 of 11 from downtown. The former Impact player is averaging over 31 points and 10 rebounds per game thus far this season.
-
Moles can't keep up with Jacks down stretch
It was a heavyweight fight as the Moles and Jacks slugged it out, but in the end after 22 lead changes with 19 ties, the Jacks were able to capitalize on turnovers and stay ahead of the Moles 97-92 to improve to 3-0. The Moles dropped to 2-1.

#1 pick Ladd impresses in preseason debut
The preseason favorite Jacks lost by 2 points to the Broncos, but it was overall #1 pick Gary Ladd who stole the show, even outplaying last seasons playoffs MVP and previous #1 pick Kent Noll . Under head coach John K, the Jacks last season went all out trading away their next two 1st round draft picks to get the Ice Monkeys Judson Ibarra and Adolfo Hebert betting on a playoff berth and a run at a championship. It didn't pan out so well, as despite the team finishing somewhat strong down the stretch, they could only muscle a 15-20 record, missing the playoffs and firing John K.
This season seems to be no different. They lucked out with the top pick in the draft, Gary Ladd who is a solid shooter, terrific rebounder and all around great player, they traded for the Impact's Christopher Stovall who should compliment him very well with his rebounding and scoring abillities. It will be no surprise if the team leads the league in rebounds. Add in the depth at center between Hebert and Dirk Roberson, you have an A+ defense.
Then for the crème de la crème. They kept solid point guard Edward Thrash, and brought in pure scorer, #1 pick in the season 1 draft, and playoff MVP Kent Noll. Don't be surprised if he lights up the league with 30+ points a game!
The Jacks are now ranked #1 in the preseason rankings to win it all. With the solid core of starters, and an equaly solid bench, if this team doesn't contend for a championship this season... the team might as well just give it up.
-

That wasn't enough as the Cloud pounded inside to Randal Lyne who tied the game up to send it to OT. In Overtime the Cloud wasted little time outscoring the Cheery O's 17-8 to take the game by 9 points. Lyne ended with 20 points and 11 rebounds. Cheery O's face stiff challenge against Lizards
All signs point to the Lizards to take this series against the Cheery O's in the semi-finals of the left brackets. The Lizards are coming off of a 6 game winning streak going back to the regular season while the Cheery O's are coming off a 3-1 series win over the Broncos, only after flirting with not making the playoffs by losing 4 of their last 5 games during the regular season.
The two teams only meeting came in the middle of the season where the Lizards got the best of the Cheery O's with a 113-94 win. The Cheery O's will hv to rely on its defense to have a chance against the Lizards as their offensive depth is fleeting.
