Jacko has arrived
Corbin Jacko exploded for career highs of 33 points and 19 rebounds in the Moles 106-93 win over the Meteors racking up their first win of the season while handing the Meteors their first loss. Ever since Jacko was the top pick in the season 5 draft and went on to win the Rookie of the Season award, huge things have been expected, but they've seemed to come very slow. This however might be the start of a league star. Jacko, entering his 3rd season is scoring nearly 24 per game with 12 boards a game. Moles fans will be watching to see if he can sustain this level of play through the next few games and make the Moles look like the playoff contenders they were expected to be.

Moles win in offensive display vs Fire Ants
Hiram Atkins wasted no time in a vintage 31 point outing vs the Fire Ants where he hit 6 three pointers to lead the Moles 133-112 in the win. Kent Noll suffered at the line, but hit 4 of 5 from downtown where the team tied a franchise record with 15 three pointers made. Noll had 27. Corbin Jacko was also on point despite 7 turnovers scoring 19 points, with 13 boards and a huge career high 7 assists. Buford Lashley was perfect in his 12 minutes of play going 5 of 5 for 10 points.
The team contained Harland Brenneman holding him to 6 points on 1 of 4 shooting, however Gregory Cushing was dazzling with 24 points, 9 assists and 5 boards leading the Fire Ants to a 11 of 17 shooting from the perimeter which of course was not enough.
The Moles take their 2 game win streak next to the Lizards who are struggling at 0-3.

Spain leads charge as Moles notch first win
It almost seemed like a do-or-die scenario so early on in the season for the Moles as they just couldn't find any answers this young season. They finally put together a solid game beating the Terriers 115-101 to avoid going 0-2 for the first time in franchise history.
Brendan Spain got off to a quick start leading the way with 25 points on 9 of 13 shooting while Corbin Jacko notched a double-double with 10 boards and 21 points. Kent Noll still wasn't in form, but did score 21 points with 6 steals. The team shot 52% from the field and 47% from beyond the arc with 25 of 28 free throws made, a far cry better than their recent shooting woes.
Up next are the 1-1 Fire Ants, a team the Moles beat twice last season.

Moles take first preseason win in less than impressive fashion
It was the first time the Moles garnished more than 90 points so far beating the hapless Terriers 93-78 to improve to 1-2 in the preseason. It was easily the teams best performance despite again shooting under 40%. They did hit the boards hard pulling down 57 boards. Buford Lashley was the unlikely team scoring leader with 14 points on 5 of 9 shooting as he continues to have a very solid preseason. Reports say he will get the start over Corbin Jacko in the finale against the 1-2 Lizards.

Good win for Moles despite Injuries
It seemed it would all go wrong for the Moles, going into the game missing Kent Nolls, then not being able to stop the onslaught from the Wranglers for the first half, then Corbin Jacko going down to injury in the 2nd. The Moles however were able to rally, outscoring the Wranglers 57-42 in the second half to hold on to a 10 point win. It wasn't pretty at all, but the defense held strong in the end limiting Tyrone Hamel, Kent Himes and Azriel Gerloff's scoring and Hiram Atkins hitting key shots down the stretch to win their 3rd straight and take sole possession of 1st in the standings once again.
They face the struggling Cobras next where they hope Jacko and Noll can return from injury. Previously they defeated the team by 29 points.
-
Runaway win for Moles over Meteors
The Moles tied a franchise best 5 wins in a row 123-99 over the Meteors with Corbin Jacko cleaning up playing his best all-around game with 29 points including a monster 6 of 7 from the perimeter. Kent Noll scored 25 in the win. For the Meteors, Jose Teske was somewhat rough coming back from injury, but put in 15 points with 11 boards and 8 assists while Sebastian Heyer paced the team with 27.
The Moles next host the 5-3 Diamonds where they attempt to set the franchise mark of 6 wins in a row.

Bench steps up in Moles win over Cobras
The Moles haven't been consistent in their play from game to game, but they've been more than consistent in their wins after another blowout 29 point win over the Cobras. Jeffery Espy had his best game of the season, scoring 17 with 10 assists and 3 steals and just 1 turnover. Corbin Jacko has been coming into his own as well off the bench scoring 11 with 12 boards. Brendan Spain, Buford Lashley and Imrich Gelvin all contributed solidly in their limited minutes off the bench.
Next up will be quite the test at home vs the reigning champ Wolves who have squeaked their way to a 4-1 start.

Moles put on clinic dismantling Wasps
Very consistent from beginning to end, the Moles played like expected dominating the Wasps 138-76. They pulled in 57 boards to the Wasps 24 while shooting 53% to 24%. Kent Noll scored 31 with 8 assists, Hiram Atkins scored 39 with 7 boards and Jeffery Espy dished 14 assists with just 2 turnovers. Both Dirk Roberson and Corbin Jacko had double-doubles. Jacko finally put in a decent game for the first time in his early career even going back to preseason. He scored 26 on 9 of 19 with 16 boards.
They held the Wasps Neville Lea to just 2 points, the fewest in a game since his rookie season. The Moles face a solid test against the 2-0 Lizards tomorrow.

Moles Ready To Roll
Forward Corbin Jacko joins the Moles as the most highly anticipated rookies in franchise history after the team lucked out with the #1 pick overall. The Moles are placing their hopes of the future on his young shoulders, surrounding him with proven talent on all sides.
Unfortunately the preseason didn't meet the high expectations the team or fans had despite getting the most playing time. He scored a solid 15.8ppg in 31mpg, but shot just 41.5% from the floor, easily the worst of the players in the main rotation. He did show huge promise from the line and on the defensive side which is something the team is very happy with. They hope he's able to gel with his all-star caliber teammates as the season gets under way.
The Moles return former all-star, and previous League II #1 overall pick Kent Noll who will play shooting guard, who will be expected to lead the team in scoring and return to his all-star form. The other starter being returned is fellow lifetime Mole and Team MVP forward Hiram Atkins who brings a similar skillset to the table, but will be even more of a shooter.
The Moles bring in two key aquisitions... from the Terriers, guard Jeffery Espy to run the offense. He is not expected to do any bulk scoring, but should be solid at the point. The other huge aquisition via free agency is former Jack Dirk Roberson to give a huge bump in inside presence. The 3-time all-star and 2-time all-league selection was the most highly saught after center this season, and rejoins his former teammate Knoll with a new 4 season, 68m contract. He shores up what they hope will be the best defense in the league.
The Moles do lose a couple of key players in guard who had spent his entire career with the team, and center Virgil Fowle who's played a major role the previous two seasons.
Coach Kingpin advises that anything less than a championship will not be tolerated this season. The Moles look to return to the playoffs after missing it for the first time in franchise history last season with a 16-19 record.

Moles hold on for preseason opener win
It was the debut of the #1 draft pick Corbin Jacko for the Moles, and after a shaky start... he settled in to score 19 points with 7 boards in his 34 minutes of play. Dirk Roberson also got significant time with 35 minutes, 24 points and 5 boards in a solid debut... however it was newcomer Jeffery Espy who was for the most part very solid dishing 7 assists with 17 points,2 steals and a block. However he did cause concern with 6 turnovers in the 107-104 win over the Fire Ants. Kent Noll started really strong hitting 8 of 10 for 19 points in his limited 1st half minutes.
For the Fire Ants, Al Pandolfo scored 26 to lead all scores going 9 of 11 from the field.
