• Dupree announces retirement

  Donnie Dupree has announced his retirement from the Venom after season 19. Dupree played 16 seasons after being drafted by the Gryphons in the 4th season.

• Heckstall announces retirement

  Ivory Heckstall has announced his retirement from the Venom after season 19. Heckstall played 19 seasons after being drafted by the Spirit in the 1st season.

• AboveBroadway fired as Venom coach

  After a 15-20 season, the Venom have decided to part ways with AboveBroadway. AboveBroadway compiled a 15-20 record with the team over the past season with 0 playoff appearances. The team will be engaging in interviews shortly to determine the next coach for the upcoming season.

• Venom qualify for the Team Tournament

  The 2 have qualified for the Team Tournament! They will go in as the #14 seed out of the field of 32

• Nice Smith named Team MVP

  Nice Smith has won the Team MVP award for the 19th Venom season.

• Smith selected as an All-Star

• Bethel agrees to deal with Venom

• Smith up to his old tricks in Venom win

  The Venom kept up with the previously undefeated Razors long enough for Nice Smith to hit the game winner with 3 seconds left, defeating the Razors 126-125 to even up their record at 2-2. Smith took over the game and poured in 48 points, his highest total since season 16. He hit 17 of 26 shots with 11 of 12 from the charity stripe. Ty Pandya dished 14 assists with 13 points.

  For the Razors Jim Weddle put up 16 with 13 boards while Bennie Munson scored 28 to lead the team who now drop to 3-1.

  The Venom have cut Gerrit Ballowe from their roster. Ballowe had yet to appear in a game this season for the Venom.

• Venom waive Branden Shipley

  The Venom have cut Branden Shipley from their roster. Shipley had yet to appear in a game this season for the Venom.

• Ballowe agrees to deal with Venom

  The Venom have signed Gerrit Ballowe to the team in a deal worth $617,400 per season for 1 season.

• Vigna agrees to deal with Venom

  The Venom have signed Bejay Vigna to the team in a deal worth $987,000 per season for 1 season.

  The Venom have signed Junior Elmore to the team in a deal worth $3,010,000 per season for 1 season.

  Ron Raith injured his foot in the Venom game against the Ice. He is expected to miss 2-3 games.

• Nice Smith, high hopes for Venom

  Nice Smith has shown no sign of slowing down, averaging 19ppg and 5rpg in just 26mpg during the preseason. He scored 22 points with 5 boards against the Bolts as the Venom won by 30 points in the teams 3rd preseason game. Expected starters for the season include Smith at forward,  Ron Raith at center, Ty Pandya and Hilario Roe at the guard positions and rookie Yehuda Schnelle at the other forward.

• Venom waive Eamon Backhuus

  The Venom have cut Eamon Backhuus from their roster. Backhuus had yet to appear in a game this season for the Venom.

• Venom send Kolm to Edge for Shipley

  The Venom have reached a deal with the Edge that will send Maxwell Kolm to the Edge in exchange for Branden Shipley.

  Kolm averaged 0.5 PPG, 0.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 4.7 minutes per game. Shipley averaged 3.1 PPG, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 9.7 minutes per game.

• Smith traded to Venom for Bolts Sargent,Donati

  The Bolts have reached a deal with the Venom that will send Ty Pandya, Hilario Roe, and Nice Smith to the Venom in exchange for Rusty Sargent, and Jay Donati.

  Smith averaged 18.9 PPG, 7.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 36.0 minutes per game. Sargent averaged 11.3 PPG, 5.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 33.2 minutes per game. Donati averaged 20.0 PPG, 9.2 rebounds and 5.5 assists in 39.6 minutes per game.

• Venom waive Olen Perlman

  The Venom have waived Olen Perlman from their roster. Olen posted 1.2 PPG, with 0.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists while playing 8.5 minutes per game during his tenure with the team.

• Halter agrees to deal with Venom

  The Venom have signed Amos Halter to the team in a deal worth $2,534,000 per season for 3 seasons.
