  • It's been a while!

The Venom have made the postseason! That line hasn't been spoken in 8 seasons, which shows what a drought what one of the best teams historically have been in. That season, Jay Donati was their top pick, Blaine Skates was tearing up the league, and Kyle Dulaney was just hitting his prime.

Now the new crop... headed by Eli Lundin, Cornell Haggberg and a resurgent Nice Smith have pulled the Venom back up into the... semi-elite teams as they go is as #6 seeds to face the Razors in the 1st round. It will be the first time the two teams will meet in the playoffs... of course the Razors 1st season in League I was season 17, so it wouldn't have been possible with the Venom slump in effect. The Razors hold a career edge of 13-4, but both teams will be missing key players. The Razors will be missing star center Jim Weddle for 2-3 games, while the Venom will miss Nice Smith, out for the entire playoffs.

Jim Weddle led the team again with another double-double, 19 points and 13 boards.

Kyle Dulaney played incredibly well with a season high of 37 points and 9 boards, but it was too little too late for the top seeded expansion Tigers who will head into the offseason with something left to prove.

  • Tigers march on

After the Tigers put in one of their most lackadaisical performances of the season, they finished off strong with a 24 point win over the #8 seed Romans 108-84. They become the first team to advance to round 2. Kyle Dulaney paced the team with 24 points and 13 boards in the win.

The #1 seeded Tigers destroyed the Gryphons scoring a franchise record 143 points while Kevan Palifka broke his own League I assists record by 3 dishing 21 dimes. He also added 25 points. They will finish their season against the Dragons where they attempt to lock up the #1 playoff spot.

The Gryphons finish their season 13-22, not far from expectations. If they are able to pull a solid draft pick and offseason next season, they should be able to contend again after their 3rd straight absolutely dismal performance.
