It will be the first time the two teams will meet in the playoffs... of course the Razors 1st season in League I was season 17, so it wouldn't have been possible with the Venom slump in effect. The Razors hold a career edge of 13-4, but both teams will be missing key players. The Razors will be missing star center Jim Weddle for 2-3 games, while the Venom will miss Nice Smith, out for the entire playoffs.

Canuto Tuerk hit the biggest shot of his career, hitting a 3 pointer to send the Ice into OT against the Venom who had held the lead most of the game. However once in OT, the Venom got the best outscoring the Ice 22-10. Nice Smith had one of his best games in a long time with both season highs of 35 points and 17 rebounds in the win.
For the Ice, Ed Coleman scored a career high 36 points in just his second start of the season to go along with his 7 rebounds.

Smith up to his old tricks in Venom win
The Venom kept up with the previously undefeated Razors long enough for Nice Smith to hit the game winner with 3 seconds left, defeating the Razors 126-125 to even up their record at 2-2. Smith took over the game and poured in 48 points, his highest total since season 16. He hit 17 of 26 shots with 11 of 12 from the charity stripe. Ty Pandya dished 14 assists with 13 points.
For the Razors Jim Weddle put up 16 with 13 boards while Bennie Munson scored 28 to lead the team who now drop to 3-1.

Nice Smith has shown no sign of slowing down, averaging 19ppg and 5rpg in just 26mpg during the preseason. He scored 22 points with 5 boards against the Bolts as the Venom won by 30 points in the teams 3rd preseason game.
