Flight Win Heavyweight Bout with Ease
The Flight, League 3's #1 team, improved to 16-1 with a comfortable 113-90 win over the 2nd place Dynamos. The Flight opened up an early lead in the game, but that deficit was closed and held tight into the early 3rd. Then the Flight's defense started to stymie the Dynamos, especially at the Forward position.
3x scoring champ and 6x All-League F Amfiloquio Skipper was held to just 2 points in the 2nd half, finishing 4-15 from the field with 6 TOs. Former Flight 4th overall pick Aldair Neitz was no help off the bench, shooting 2-11 and allowing 4/7 oFG in 20 minutes. In fact, there was not much help from the Dyamos for G Oswin Catani, who led the way for his team with 22/3/5 and 2 steals.
For the home team, G Irvin Swainson flirted again with a triple double, finishing with 19/10/7 with 3 steals. C Qadim Blare finished an up-and-down day with 21 points and 8 boards, taking advantage of a golden matchup down low. F Ezven Nedman led all scorers with 26, draining 4/5 from deep.
Next up for the Flight is a day off followed by a visit to the now 9-7 Smash for a championship rematch, but not before the Dynamos give them a run tomorrow.
