The champions had something to prove as they fought their way to a 105-94 win over a tough Sun Bears team. Jim Weddle really came on in the second half for the Razors scoring 22 points with 14 boards on 10 of 15 shooting in the game. Anibal Mackie scored 23 with 7 boards and 5 assists. Vetertan Miles Luna had one of his finest days in recent seasons scoring 17 with 5 boards, 7 assists and 3 steals in his Razor debut.

The Sun Bears were led by rookie Burcet Wilansky who carried over his excellent preseason to score 24 with 5 assists in his regular season debut.
