It was expected to be a test of league dominance by League I over League II.... instead it was just a test of dominance of the League I champion Lizards over the fledgling League II Ice. Leading by as much as 36 points and dominating for 3 1/2 periods, the Lizards never let up winning 103-70 to move on to round 2 in the team tournament championships. Genaro Deavers scored 22 with 8 boards while Jamal Reese scored 24 with 7 boards.

Jean Bickford was one of only two Ice players to score above 10. He had 20 points with 8 rebounds, while Derrick Fons scored 12 in the teams miserable 70 point outting.
